THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD - PART 246

The scriptures state that Eve ought to be to Adam, even as his own flesh, for God has said that male and female joined in marriage are one flesh. This joining together of male and female are blessed by natural unwritten law. Yes, there is a natural covenant that occurs at the time male and female join together. (Recall Adam's rib)

But there was also between God and Adam an intense personal relationship that existed from this bond. Of course, Adam was formed of the dust of the earth in the image of JESUS, the same Jesus who is the Spirit of God in visible form. Thus, here it is important to note that the unseen invisible spiritual became visible in form.

The spirit form then should not be thought of as inferior to the unseen spirit. Rather, JESUS being found in fashion as a man thought Himself not inferior to the unseen Spirit of God. Indeed, on the contrary. JESUS in form being in all ways the same eternal one Spirit in the Holy.

Adam then was a perfect expression of God’s form. Nevertheless, Adam was lifeless -- at least lifeless until the Spirit of God breathed into Adam the breath of life. Adam, upon receiving the impartation of God’s breath was pronounced as being a living soul.

Conversely, Eve was formed from Adam’s rib. Note here that Adam of the earth was earthy but inside that earthly vessel, the life- giving breath of God dwelt.

In the Garden of Eden, Eve was deceived by satan concerning the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, as something to be desired. Eve fetches Adam and they decide to hearken to the whispers of satan. In this context, we read that Eve was deceived, whereas Adam completely ignored what God had said concerning the two trees that were in the midst of the Garden. That is, sinning wilfully.

So Adam, along with Eve were expelled from the Garden. Before their expulsion from the Garden, God promised that the SEED of a Woman (the SEED that would be Christ) would bruise the Serpent heel. Plus, the earth would bring up weeds. An example of this could be that Eve in child bearing and delivery would now encounter labour pains.

Adam and Eve had two boys. The first was named Cain and the other son named Abel. Notice now there is no perfect reproduction - at least not in the context that Adam and Eve were perfect prior to the their disobedience. Suddenly, as the scriptures reveal, Cain murders Abel. Apparently, Adam and Eve’s reproductive seed’s were no longer pure seed but a mix -- a heart breaking mix.

Later, Adam and Eve now are blessed with another son who they named Seth. It is then recorded that upon Seth's birth, men began to call upon the name of the Lord (the Seed of Promise to Eve passed from Eve into Seth). See earlier posts for an expanded explanation of this point - thank you!

We also see here that our seeds have also been contaminated as a result of man's fall into disobedience. For more detail, believers should read I Corinthians 7 where believers are encouraged to marry believers, so that believers are not unevenly yoked together. Note also that JESUS said to continue in His Word so that you will be His disciples indeed.
