As believers, we have now tasted the good Word of God. We have now become partakers of the redemption purchased by the blood and water that flowed from the Seed of the Holy Spirit’s side (JESUS). Without this Seed, there would never have been redemption and if there was never any redemption then there would have never been salvation.
But the good news is that we as believers have by the grace of God looked upon and accepted the Tree of Life. The life that was imbedded in that “Tree of Life” is now available to one and all who in their hearts call upon the name of the LORD JESUS (the LORD OF GLORY) whose sinless naked body as a shell hung on that dead tree trunk. The sight, as we have alluded to before was hideous to look upon, making one desire to turn aside from viewing such a spectacle.
Yes, hideous to look upon. This hideous appearance incurred upon JESUS the results of our own imparted sin. JESUS who knew no sin took our sin upon Himself so that we the guilty should become righteous. Jesus willingly gave His life so that we could freely receive His righteousness as a gift. As a consequence, there is now no condemnation for believers. JESUS took our place on the cross.
As such, believers ought to follow their Redeemer from the cross of redemption to the tomb, willingly entering into the tomb with Him. By so doing, our old Adamic nature is buried with JESUS - God raising us up out of that tomb even as JESUS, a brand new creation did. This is what Christians often refer to as the new birth. We then continue in obedience to our Lord (Second Adam). We have been crucified, buried and raised again to walk in the newness of His imparted Tree of Life. In this new life, we not only bear much fruit but we are now clothed with His righteousness.
Disobedience to God’s WORD led to Adam’s casting out of the Garden. Are we going to have a repeat performance? The WORD of God is GOD. The one who appeared as our Redeemer was none other than God Himself. JESUS is that very SAME WORD that was in the beginning with God. In other words, God cannot be separated from His WORD. The WORD is GOD. Not a distinct and separate person as the false prophets and teachers would have you believe.
It was God's WORD that veiled Himself in flesh. The very same WORD of God whose WORD made the world. If you and I are to hear God’s WORD, then we ought to sit at JESUS' feet and pay attention for JESUS the GOD who made this world was in the world. As the scriptures declare, we did not recognize Him, simply because JESUS was clothed in flesh and we wanted a bigger splash.
We were too blind to recognize that the WORDS and the miracles which He performed declared that He was all that He proclaimed to be. Unfortunately, we are often dull at hearing. In JESUS flesh did dwell all the fullness of the Godhead bodily in appearance as a Son. Yes, that’s right. The WORD of God, all of God was in the MAN JESUS for He was God Himself as a man. No more and no less. He was conceived of the Spirit - JESUS - God’s WORD. JESUS the WORD of God’s counselled plan of redemption, being personally delivered to you and I, the Spirit of God now saying through His own redeemed Holy Spirit filled body this WORD that we repent and be baptized into the name of JESUS. So what hinders you? God has spoken.
