We Are His Betrothed Body - Part 526

Walk in love as Jesus has also loved us and hath given Himself for us. There is no limit to the love of Jesus. No boundaries or conditions or hoops to jump through. Indeed, Jesus gave Himself as an offering and a sacrifice. Therefore, when the crimson flow fell to the earth below, it was not the blood of an institution or religious organization. No, it was the blood of the Holy Spirit - the Holy Spirit of Jesus - that flowed. He alone is the Head of the church. The church being the body of Christ.

The written Word establishes that Jesus the Christ is the Head of the church and the Saviour of the body. (Ephesians 5:23) The Word also establishes that it is He alone that saves. It was Jesus who counted His own sinless flesh body to be incomplete without the companionship of His betrothed. Therefore, in Him the safety of the body of Christ depends. For it is Christ who loves the church -- the betrothed bride.

Why is it this way? Because the demands of redemption required a righteous man. This is why Jesus laid down His sinless flesh. And why, in so doing, Jesus rescued His betrothed, sanctifying and cleansing her.  The Spirit of God washed His own redeemed betrothed church body with the washing of the water of His indwelling. Loving words of His declared promises. She in turn willingly submitting to His words of love, even following Him to death.

In these latter days, the Spirit of God is desirous to present to Himself a glorious, church body. His betrothed as a beautiful splendid bride - without spot or wrinkle. This redeemed church body - the betrothed bride of Christ - became His purchased possession. Born again. As a consequence, faultless and perfect.

The Spirit of God which was in Christ loves His betrothed body. She was the flesh of His flesh and bone of His bone. She was created in the beginning for Him. To fellowship with the God who created us. Jesus sacrificed His own natural body in order to woe her out of bondage. He willingly sacrificed His own sinless body. He endured all things for you and I.

Now that is love. No one ever cared for His betrothed bride like Jesus did. Even when His bride is unfaithful, scarred, bruised and mangled with the wages of sin, God's infinite love was drawing our salvation plan. Down from His glory. Love divine. God became flesh so that He could give us His abundant grace.

No, there is no other love like the love of Jesus. We know this because you and I are the betrothed bride of Christ. Stand in the offering plate.
