Press into Jesus Today - He Never Fails - Part 543

The law and the prophets were only intended until John. Since that time, the kingdom of God was (and is) to be preached to the world so that every man and woman alive has an opportunity to press into the kingdom. Press into the knowledge of Jesus. The one who holds the universe completely in His hands - so that each and every one of us can welcome Jesus into our lives as our own personal Saviour -- Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

How many times have we lost something valuable and spent countless hours in search of it again. Jesus, in Luke 15:8-10 makes a reference to this very situation. A woman having ten pieces of silver had lost one. "Doth not [she] light a candle and sweep the house and seek diligently till she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls her friends and her neighbours together, saying, "Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost."

Like so many of us, the woman had tried everything the world had to offer. And she was found wanting. What the world offered wasn't enough. She knew there had to be more. And when she found the one piece of silver - the one and only Jesus who gives hope and meaning -- life abundant - she was rejoicing. She had found Jesus - the Word who was with God and was God and then became flesh so that we could have eternal life.

What did the woman do? She rejoiced. "For I have found the piece which I had lost." Jesus said, "there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth - one person who asks Jesus into their heart. Imagine. Rejoicing in Heaven over our willingness to give our all -- our lives -- to our Lord and Saviour who is omnipresent enough to hold the universe in His hands and yet, still knows firsthand the desires of our heart.

Unlike the Pharisees with their self righteousness and pompous dispositions, press into the knowledge of Jesus Christ today.  Not as seemingly perfect beings as the Pharisees might have us believe but rather as ordinary people who know that when we fail in our everyday walk, that He -- Jesus, our Lord and Saviour -- is faithful.

It is Jesus who bestows His riches on us. His abundance. The one who holds the universe never intended for us to be less than victorious. He is faithful. Take up your cross and follow Jesus. Stand in the offering plate!
