Man Made in Image of God - PART 214

ONE LORD - ONE FAITH - ONE BAPTISM

The next step is to put your faith in God! Why? Because with God nothing is impossible. What is it that you would have God do for you? As the Bible states, "if one will only believe all things are possible ...!"

Indeed, if one were to exercise faith in the Lord - a believing faith even faith as small as a grain of mustard seed - then that person could audibly tell their mountainous problems to leave, expecting results. How do we know this?

Well, God Himself, from the very beginning exercised faith. Did not God counsel within Himself? He is our role model. And upon arriving at the apex of His counselling, He ceased from counselling and from His innermost Spirit said, "Let there be ..."

God’s Spirit did not just sit and dream what the thoughts He had counselled. No. The Spirit of God moved. What He had purpose came to be. Lo and behold, out of nothing came whatsoever God had purposed.

Man was made in the image of God. Recall when the multitude who had been following JESUS became hungry? JESUS told His disciples to give them something to eat. They responded by saying that there isn't enough money to purchase food for this many people. What a dilemma. For everyone but God. As the scriptures point out, there was a young boy there who had packed a lunch. Granted, the lunch was small consisting only of five pieces of bread and two small fish, but it was certainly enough for Jesus to create a miracle.

In fact, JESUS told His disciples to bring the boy and his lunch to Him. Believing, they did so. JESUS asked the disciples to tell the crowd to sit down in groups of fifty. The table was set. All eyes were understandably fixed upon JESUS. I am sure the disciples (and the crowds) were similarly thinking - but Lord, there are only five pieces of bread and two small fish. But JESUS had everything under control.

Taking the five loaves and two small fish in his hand, Jesus lifted His eyes heavenward and prayed. JESUS then hands the five loaves and two small fish to one disciple to pass out. Again, Jesus hands the same amount of food to another disciple, and to another, and then again to another. The food just kept on coming. This continued until every one within the crowd had eaten. When the disciples gathered up all the leftovers, they filled twelve baskets with food.

Of course, the powers that be opposed JESUS for performing miracles. They said we will not have this man rule over us. Instead, they yelled, crucify Him. Little did it matter that the judicial system had found no fault in Him. And, as a consequence, Pilate the judge washed his hands, as if to say, another day another dollar!

Still, never a man spoke as this man spoke. Is it any wonder that the ordinary people said that they had never seen anything like these miracles performed before? Is it any wonder that the ordinary people pressed toward JESUS to hear the Word of God coming forth from the indwelling Holy Spirit who had Fathered Him? And inasmuch as He was the two Seeds emanating from God’s innermost being, is it any wonder that ordinary people believed Jesus to be the only begotten Son of God?

Yes, He was clothed in a sin prone body found in fashion as one of Adam’s sinful race. And He did so in order that we might be saved! So, do not become entangled with religion. Faith requires that you believe and know who the Spirit of God is. Indeed, there is only one revelation of God given to man, and that revelation is in the manifestation of God as a Son. Apart from Jesus one would be worshipping in ignorance.

And as revealed in the scriptures, no man has seen God at any time except as the only begotten Son who has come forth from God’s innermost being. He has revealed the Spirit of God in the flesh.
