Therefore Seeing We Have This Ministry, As We Have Received Mercy, We Faint Not - Part 1761

"Behold, He comes with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him; and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen." (Revelation 1:7-8)

"And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon Me whom they have pierced and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn." (Zechariah 12:10)

"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the Word of reconciliation ..."

From the beginning of time, our Lord God knew that He would become our Saviour. As the scripture relates -- how often must He have suffered from the beginning of the world, knowing that the only way back to Him was through the offering of a perfect sacrifice on the cross. It is no wonder Jesus wept! Even though He is "Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending," saith the Lord, "which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty," there was still a cross to bear that would satisfy the endless ordinances of the old testament. (Hebrews 9:1-18)

Why is this so?

"For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when He comes into the world, He saith, "Sacrifice and offering thou would not, but a body hast thou prepared Me: in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin Thou hast had no pleasure." Then said I, "Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me,) to do Thy will, O God."

Above when He said, "Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin Thou would not, neither hadst pleasure therein;which are offered by the law; Then said He, "Lo, I come to do Thy will, O God. He takes away the first, that He may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest stands daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.. From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool. For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that He had said before, "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days," saith the Lord, "I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin." (Hebrews 10:4-18)

After the kindness and love of God our Saviour ... (Titus 3:4-7)

It is no wonder we are excited to tell those we love about Jesus -- for He is our strength and stronghold, the Giver of life to all mankind!

"Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the Word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." (II Corinthians 1-6)

And now, knowing that our salvation is assured, we look for "that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." (Titus 2:13-14)
