According to the Biblical scriptures, there are three that bear witness in Heaven - the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit. But does this refer to three distinct and separate persons as the norm presented/inherited from the so called church fathers? Let us together review the scriptures. Certainly, God is one Spirit and there is only one body. When God said, "Let there be light" - here again there is no indication of another person being present. The scriptures simply state that God who is one Spirit and one body said- let there be. Simply put God speaks, and when God speaks, things happen. This is indicative of what we already know. That is, the Word of the Spirit of God in one body is all powerful.
The Word of God was veiled in flesh. Again, there is no indication of another person present. What is revealed is exactly what transpired. That the very same Word which was with God was now veiled in flesh. In short, we see the spiritual Word of God being veiled in flesh as one -- not as another person. Indeed, God Himself was visiting His own creation. He being God was personally going to deliver the gospel message which He had, down through the ages, endeavoured to deliver by others. Until this time, God's message seemingly fell on deaf ears.
Instead, this last time, God Himself decided to personally deliver the gospel message. God Himself would confront one and all, knocking at the door of their hearts so that we, one and all, would know and understand who God was. Whilst He was veiled in flesh, the scriptures say that when we saw Him there was no external beauty that would draw us to Him. Rather, we were drawn to Him by the Words that He spoke. Words that were like music in a sinners ear! Why? Because His words were of life and joy and peace and hope. He was so different from those religious teachers. His Words stirred the inner man to get off the couch and follow Him. His Words impelled men to provide for their own, to love the wife of their youth, even as God has done at Calvary for us! His bride. His body. Redeeming us to Himself. His bride having no spots or wrinkles!
This is why it is important to note that Jesus was/is God Himself manifest in the flesh, appearing as a Son, (child of God’s own Spirit). He was not another person. He was Jesus -- God with us as a Son! Jesus said that it was not the fleshy covering that was being expressed. It was the working of the Spirit of God who in all fullness indwelt Jesus. Jesus said it is not Him that was doing these works but the Father who is Spirit dwelling within Him that is performing the miracles, signs, wonders and healings. Truly this is the Spirit of God reaching out in love offering an alternative!
A body you have prepared me. Yes, we are that body in which God is pleased to dwell. This church body is to be a habitation of God’s Spirit. We are the bride of Christ, who laid down His life for our redemption that the original purpose of God may continue! There is no indication of three persons. When you call on Jesus you are calling on God.
Jesus is the Word that was in the beginning with God. God sent His Word, not another person. God bless all who look for the glorious appearing of Our Great God and only Saviour Jesus! Stand in the Offering Plate.
