The Lord Is Not Slack Concerning His Promise But Is Long-suffering To Us-ward, Not Willing That Any Should Perish, But That All Should Come To Repentance - Part 2012

"But hath in due times manifested His Word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;" (Titus 1:3)

"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the long suffering of our Lord is salvation; " (II Peter 3:8-15)

From the beginning of time, the Spirit of God has continually endeavoured to reveal Himself to mankind.  Unfortunately, humans were always misreading God’s intended results. Even though God was constantly and purposefully attempting to reveal Himself, utilizing descriptive titles of His name as one approach, and by sending prophets to disseminate divinely inspired revelations, both His and the prophet's words fell on deaf ears.

In a last attempt to bring man salvation, the same God who created us in the beginning was moved by love and compassion toward His beloved created. Deciding by the counsel of His own mind, He Himself set out to make one final attempt to redeem man from his fallen state. How? God would become our Saviour.

Indeed, God would become as one of us, clothing Himself in sin-prone flesh (yet without sin!) so that we might find abundant life in Him. This He accomplished by issuing His own seed -- that which is conceive in you Mary is of the Holy Ghost.  In today's language, Mary was a surrogate mother.

And the angel answered and said unto Mary, "The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:35)

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His Name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His Name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, "God with us." (Matthew 1:21-23)

Moreover, as the scriptures state, an angel revealed the child's name -- JESUS -- the Son of God. While on earth, Jesus went about His Father’s business, attempting to remove the fog of tradition that had become so entrenched within society. Today, we call it religious culture wherein we rely on others for our learning and edification but I digress.

Jesus wanted to turn the hearts of ordinary people so that they would respond positively to His good news gospel message and follow Him. In relaying His message, many noted that it was an authoritative one. Jesus did not speak like the scribes and the Pharisees. In fact, He talked the talk and walked the walk. Well, that conduct could not be tolerated by a seated religion, even in Jesus' days on earth. So, as a consequence, the back room boys began to scheme, developing a plan that would remove Jesus from the world. We know the end result. But there are equally important details to note as well that set the stage.

First and foremost, Jesus is the child of the same holy Spirit that moved upon the face of the waters in Genesis. The child had been clothed in Mary‘s womb in the fashion of men. That is, Jesus was clothed with that which Mary‘s womb was only capable of supplying. That is, similar to all those born of women, sinful flesh. It could not be any other way for she was also the offspring of Adam‘s fallen race.

Luke wrote that in the man dwelt this same holy Spirit, for Jesus was conceived of the Holy Ghost. In effect we see the priesthood of God being revealed in earthly fashion. God who is a Spirit was always love, mercy and compassion, right from the beginning. Now, centuries later, we are going to the school of God, to be taught the ABC's of God. We are learning that God Himself became as a son in earthly visible language.

Thus, now, in this dispensation of grace -- in the New Testament, we are being introduced to the spiritual priesthood of God. What we are having unveiled to us then is love. The love that God has for His people and more. Unlike the priests of today, there is no other priest like the priestly nature of the unseen God now being manifest in the man Jesus the Christ. God in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself. (II Corinthians 5:19; I Timothy 3:16; John 1:10-11; Isaiah 9:6)

Initially, Philip who actually walked with Jesus dd not understand who Jesus was. If you recall in the scriptures, Philip desired to see God the Father and said that if he did, that would satisfy Him. Well here comes the eye opener.  Jesus responds to Philip saying, "Have I been so long time with you and you have not known Me? If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father."

God’s priestly nature (MELCHISEDEC) was in the man Christ Jesus, child of the Holy Ghost, revealing His Father’s priestly nature reaching out with His arms wide open. Who would ever desire any other form of priest? Particularly when there is no other love like the love of Jesus. The Spirit of the One God who was in the man Jesus was and is and will be the prophet, priest and King. This God who has revealed Himself in the man Jesus is now revealing Himself to you too if you are looking for a priest -- one who ensured that the price for our sins was paid once and for all.

No more weekly treks to a church hoping for redemption because our Lord God and Saviour Jesus the Christ has sanctified us by His truth. Therefore,, we need to look no further. For God has said, "Look to Me all you people who are lost and you shall be saved. Why? Because as Jesus points out, beside Him there is no Saviour.

Your only high priest - He lives forever - He has an unchangeable priesthood. So come and accept this same Jesus whom was crucified as both your Lord and Saviour. As both the Lord and Christ. (Acts 2:36) For He is continually inviting us to take hold of His truth -- Thy Word is truth. (John 17:17)

And yes, precious Lord, take our hand and lead and guide us in Your ways of knowledge and learning, for in You are all the blessings of the Kingdom.

Stand in the offering plate.
