Even though there is a clear distinction between the old covenant of Law and the new dispensation of grace (in which we now live), it is important to note that throughout the Bible, the Word speaks solely of our Lord God and Saviour -- the One and Only who brought salvation and redemption to the world. There is no confusion, because our Lord God and Saviour is not the author of confusion.
Therefore, in spite of a religious culture that does not know the Word, the Word remains true. And that means -- "He who knew no sin" -- willingly became sin, shedding His precious blood on a cross so that you and I might get to know Him personally.
"For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him." (II Corinthians 5:21)
The same God who created man and woman in the beginning, then offered us life abundant through His precious blood shed on the cross -- to those who seek Him so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. In whom?
In Jesus. In this new period of grace, His name is Jesus. Yes, the Jehovah of the old covenant is Jesus - who is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. This is why everything that we do in both word or deed today, is to be done in the name of Jesus, including water baptism. (Colossians 3:17; Acts 2:37-42)
Why? Because Jesus has a plan for our life in these last days, one in which He will bestow upon us His power from on high. How do we know this? Because the scriptures are confirmed in both the old and new covenants. From Joel, and then repeated again in the book of Acts, we read:
"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My spirit.

And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call." (Joel 2:28-32)
And from Acts: "For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; "And it shall come to pass in the last days," saith God, "I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. And on My servants and on My handmaidens, I will pour out in those days of My Spirit; and they shall prophesy ... and I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Acts 2:15-21)
Call on the name of our Lord God and Saviour today. In so doing, trust Jesus with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love one another. Read His Word daily for your learning and edification, seeking His righteousness in your life. Stand in the offering plate.
