I Am Jesus Whom Thou Persecute - Part 864

Ananias, a devout man according to the law said to Saul, "The God of our fathers has chosen thee, that thou shouldest know His will and see that Just One and should hear the voice of His mouth -- for thou shalt be His witnesses unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard." (Acts 22:14-15)

When we read about Saul's journey in Acts 9, the voice that he heard said , "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me?" When he asked, "Who art Thou, Lord?" what did the Lord say?

"I am Jesus, whom thou persecute: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks." (Acts 9:5)

The same God that Philip (John 14) and Thomas (John 20) came to know was the same God that Saul met when he asked,  "Who art Thou, Lord?"

HIS NAME IS JESUS.

In Colossians, this same message is revealed to those that seek Jesus and His righteousness with all their hearts, souls, minds and strength. The first chapter states:

"Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son: in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins ...

who is the image of the invisible God -- the firstborn of every creature.

For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers, all things were created by Him, and for Him.

And He is before all things and by Him all things consist.

He is the Head of the body, the church; who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead that in ALL things He might have the pre-eminence ... for it pleased the Father that in Him should ALL the fulness dwell -- and having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself -- by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven." (Colossians 1:12-20)

So, if the stakeholders in the Bible knew who God was by name, why is the religious culture of this day still advancing the doctrine of a trinity or triune God? Or God in three persons.

Jesus said, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending which is, and which was and which is to come -- the Almighty." (Revelation 1:8, 11, 17,18; Revelation 22:12, 13) I am the Lord thy God, and besides Me, there is no other. (Hosea 13:4; Isaiah 43:11)

Yahweh (i.e. LORD) of the old covenant and Jesus Christ of the new testament “is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” (Hebrews 13:8) “For I AM the LORD, I change not” (Malachi 3:6).

This same Jesus is reaching out to you today. "Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whatsoever will, let him take the water of life freely." (Revelation 22:17) Stand in the offering plate.
