Choose Life in Jesus Christ - Part 726

As God's creation, we have not only been given authority over the earth but equally the power to make choices. Indeed, the Lord has set both life and death, blessing and cursing before us. Of course, in the end, our Lord God and Saviour desires that we choose life, in order that both we and our seed may have life everlasting. In fact, the scriptures state: "In the way of righteousness is life, and in the pathway thereof, there is no death." (Proverbs 12:28)

Moreover, the new covenant is all about the choice between life and death -- and the fact that "the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death." (I Corinthians 15:26) For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive -- but every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at His coming. Then cometh the end, when He shall have delivered up the kingdom of God, even the Father, when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He hath put all enemies under His feet. (I Corinthians 15:23-26)

But we, being justified by faith, have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ -- by whom we have access by faith, into this grace wherein we stand and rejoice, in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also; knowing that tribulation works patience, and patience, experience, and experience, hope and hope maketh not ashamed -- because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (Romans 5:1-5)

"For when we were yet without strength in due time, Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him."

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His only begotten Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life, and not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. But the good news is that "if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

It is Jesus the Christ that makes our life precious. And equally, it is because of Jesus the Christ that we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. (Romans 8:37) Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Jesus said, "He that believes in me -- though he were dead, yet shall he live." (John 11:25)

Ask Jesus into your life today. He who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness." (I Peter 2:24) Stand in the offering plate.
