This is why we are encouraged to read His Word daily -- so that we can understand how much our heavenly Father loved us. And how far He was willing to go to prove His abundance of love for you and I. The scriptures state that "the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal." (I Corinthians 12:7) And that "every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." (James 1:17)
In this context then, our Lord is not a discerner of persons. Rather, He is unchangeable in His goodness for His beloved. The sun shines equally on those who have already willingly accepted Jesus into their lives and those who have not yet recognized His love, His grace and His mercy toward them. Why is this? Because He would that we would all come to Jesus.
The Spirit Life within Jesus -- that was the unchangeable Word of God -- desires that we would come to Him and willingly desire to do His will. The same Jesus that was the embodiment of God’s Word -- the same Jesus that is the very Word that was with God and was God -- desires our fellowship. (John 1:1-18) To this end, Jesus came forth in fleshly fashion as one of Abraham descendants. In fact, Jesus was the promised Seed of the Holy Spirit in which Seed all believing nations shall be blessed.
Herein, our hearts are the ground into which the Seed of truth seeks. Tis the same Seed that is spoken to all men through the mouth of Jesus in whom alone does the Living Word of God dwell. For it is written, "In Jesus dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." (Colossians 2:9) The Seed Word spoken by Jesus in the scriptures is endeavouring to root in men and women today.
Therefore, set your affection on things above, and not on the things of this earth. For when you ask Jesus into your heart, you become dead to earthly matters. Your life is hid with Christ. And "when Christ who is our life shall appear, then shall you also appear with Him in glory." (Colossians 3:2-17)
Until that blessed day, may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost ... and through mighty signs and wonders by the power of the Spirit of God. (Romans 15:13-19) Stand in the offering plate.
