Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them. How much more are you better than the fowls?
And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If you then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take you thought for the rest?
Consider the lilies how they grow. They toil not. They spin not. And yet, I Jesus say unto you that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed as one of these. If then God so clothe the grass which is today in the field and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will He clothe you?
Therefore, don't be of little faith. Seek not what you shall eat or drink, or be of a doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after. Recognize rather that your Father -- the same Father who willingly became a sacrifice on the cross for our sins -- knows that we have need of these things -- even before we do.
So, instead of dwelling on the little things of life, Jesus encourages us to seek His Kingdom first. Seek His gracious counsel. Seek His abundant love. Let Jesus be your refuge and strength. Your very help in times of trouble. Come behold the works of our Lord God and Saviour. (Luke 12)
David wrote in Psalms 46 -- Be still and know that I am God. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Stand in the offering plate.
