Hear Ye Him [Jesus] For He Shall Save His People From Their Sins - Part 1444

Jesus said, "He also that received seed among the thorns is he that hears the Word, and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches choke the Word and he becomes unfruitful. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that hears the Word, and understands, which also bears fruit, and brings forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty." (Matthew 13:22-23)

Who is the Word according to the scriptures? JESUS!

"In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word WAS God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men ... And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:1-18)

In other words, the Word is Jesus the Christ. (Revelation 19:13) The only begotten. (John 3:16) The light of the world. (John 1:1-5) The Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the ending. (Revelation 1:8-9) The King of kings and Lord of lords. (Revelation 17:14; Revelation 19:16) God manifest in the flesh. (I Timothy 3:16)

We also see this when John the baptist baptized Jesus. What did the voice from heaven say? "This is My beloved Son -- in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17) "This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Hear ye Him ..." (Matthew 17:5; Mark 1:11; I Peter 1:17)

Note that the voice came not because of Jesus needing to be confirmed but for our sake -- because of our unbelief, and in the case of John the baptist to show John that this same Jesus whom he water baptized was indeed the "promised Christ" that was prophesied ... and that, "upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and remaining on Him, the same is He which baptizes with the Holy Ghost." (John 12:30-32; John 1:33; Isaiah 42:1; Isaiah 61:1; Matthew 3:11)

Jesus Himself told us, "If you love Me, keep My commandments." (John 14:15) "I am the Resurrection and the Life: he that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Believe thou this?" (John 11:25-26; John 5:21; John 6:39-44; I John 5:10; I Corinthians 15:22)

For "this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the Name of the Son of God, ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the Name of the Son of God!." (I John 5:11-13)

Jesus is the true light which lights every man that comes into the world. He placed His purpose in our heart while we were still in our mother's womb. And, to as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God [even] to those who believe in His Name. (John 1:10-12)

But instead of hearing His voice in our hearts, we are being consumed by the cares and whims of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches which choke the Word within us. While we attempt to keep things afloat (performing worldly endeavours and religious chores and good works), we are inadvertently being diverted from the Only One who can give us life -- more abundantly.

Jesus -- the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world. (John 1:29) This same Jesus whom we have crucified - as Peter so aptly pointed out -- who is both Lord and Christ. (Acts 2:36-38) The Word of God made flesh. (John 1:14) The bread of Life which came down from heaven. The living bread wherein our needs are satisfied.

This is why Jesus said, "I am the Bread of Life: he that comes to Me shall never hunger, and he that believes on Me shall never thirst." (John 6:26-51)

As believers in Jesus Christ by faith, we need to stop letting the cares of this world choke our faith in Jesus. We need to stop letting the deceitfulness of worldly riches lead us astray from the Word that we so desperately need to hide in our hearts. As Jesus so aptly told the Jews that murmured against Him, "It is written in the prophets -- they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, comes unto Me. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save He which is of God, He hath seen the Father. Verily, verily I say unto you -- he that believes on Me hath everlasting life. I am that Bread of Life ... I am the living Bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this Bread, he shall live forever; and the Bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." (John 6:45-52)

"This is the work of God -- that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent." (John 6:29)

And if He Himself -- God manifest in the flesh, willingly becoming our Saviour on the cross, and thus, go to this extent to get our attention, He will similarly clothe and feed you too when you turn your focus completely to Him, and His teachings, and in doing His work on this earth. (I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 42:13; Titus 3:4-7; John 10:30; John 14:6-10; II Timothy 2:15)

As Jesus said even then, "Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not: and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is today in the flied, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will He clothe you?" (Luke 12:22-40)
