He That Abides In the Doctrine of Christ, He Hath Both the Father AND the Son - Part 1443

"It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4)

"This is the commandment -- that as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it, for many deceivers are entered into the world "who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh." This is a deceiver and an anti-Christ. Look to yourselves that we lose not those things, which we have wrought but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresses and abides not in the "doctrine of Christ" hath not God. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed ..." (II John 1:6-10)

"Know ye not that the Lord -- He is God? It is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful unto Him and bless His Name. For the Lord is good. His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to all generations." (Psalm 100:3-5)

But "that which is crooked can not be made straight; and that which is wanting cannot be numbered ..." (Ecclesiastes 1:15) It is for this reason that we discuss further the doctrine of Christ and how the doctrine of Christ should not be replaced by a false erroneous religious teaching of a triune or trinity God. Further to this point, the modern day church culture has (sadly!) become a massive deceiver, and led many to destruction, because those who began their walk with Jesus by faith were not taught the scriptures -- as "it is written." (Matthew 4:1-10)

"Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against Me ..." (Isaiah 43:27)

Nevertheless, Jesus said that after He was taken up (to be seen no more) we would receive the Comforter -- and that He [Jesus] through the Holy Ghost would give commandments unto the apostles whom He had chosen. That He [Jesus] through the Holy Ghost would lead and guide us into all truth -- as ye have heard from the beginning. (Acts 1:2-3; I Corinthians 15:1-8; Acts 2:36-47; John 15:26-27)

Jesus said, "But the Comforter [which is] the Holy Ghost whom the Father will send in My Name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you. Not as the world gives, give I unto you ... Ye have heard how I said unto you -- "If ye loved Me, ye would rejoice because I said, "I go unto the Father for My Father is greater than I." And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it come to pass, ye might believe." (John 14:26-31)

But Jesus does not stop there. His message continues to this day -- "If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." (John 15:7)

"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me, and ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with Me from the beginning." (John 15:26-27)

Not as another G/god, or as one third of Almighty God, but as God Himself was in the very beginning. The Spirit of the Lord who created the earth and all its inhabitants. (Genesis 1:1) The Holy Ghost which overshadowed Mary to bring forth a son. (Luke 1:35) The Comforter wherein the Father testifies of the Son. (John 15:26) Through the Holy Ghost, we have both the Father and the Son. (II John 1:6-10)

As Jesus said, "If a man love Me, He will keep My words, and My Father will love him and we will come unto Him and make our abode with Him,. He that loves Me not keepeth not My sayings, and the Word which ye hear is not Mine but the Father's which sent Me. These things have I spoken unto you, being [yet] present with you." (John 14:23-25)

It is in this context that we must align our understanding of the Godhead with the Word of God, and not the false traditions of men. Why? Because we have an unction from the Holy One and as a consequence, ye know all things. No lie can be of the truth. (II John 2:20)

"Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-christ that denies the Father and the Son. Whosoever denies the Son, the same hath not the Father [but he that acknowledges the Son hath the Father also]. Let that therefore abide in you, why ye have heard from the beginning. If that which you have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also should continue in the Son and in the Father ... and this is the promise that He hath promised us, [even] eternal life. (I John 2:21-25)

Does this sound confusing? Let's break it down. For clarity, please note that the "added" words are in square brackets, or shown in italics in some Bibles. Knowing this helps us to understand what was written, and the extra words needed to clarify a particular point in our own specific language that were not in the original text.

Genesis 1:1 begins -- "In the beginning, God ..." This is confirmed again on the new testament side -- "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word WAS God. The same was in the beginning with God." (John 1:1-2) Not "He" was in the beginning -- suggesting that the Word was yet another apart from God but instead "the same" was in the beginning. When we understand that God spoke forth His Word and brought about all that there is in the world, then we begin to see that salvation could only have been rendered if God Himself became as one of us, taking on a body unto Himself and then offering Himself as a last will and testament so that we could receive His free gift of salvation -- and the inheritance of eternal life. (Isaiah 42:13; Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 43:3)

"I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins." (Isaiah 43:25)

Until the Holy Ghost had overshadowed Mary so that she could bring forth a son, "no man had seen God at any time." (Luke 1:35; I John 4:13; Hebrews 1:1-3)

Just as the Spirit of the Lord God spoke the world into existence in the beginning, He has given us of His Spirit in this current dispensation of grace so that we can know that we also dwell in Him. (Genesis 1:1-31; I John 4:13)

Jesus is the Christ then is the promise that was prophesied afore and similarly from the beginning of time. The mystery that was held in the bosom of the Father until the fullness of time. The Lord coming forth as a mighty man to bring us salvation. (Isaiah 42:13; Isaiah 9:6)

The Godhead, fully explained in I Timothy 3:16 states: "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."

Without controversy, God was manifest in the flesh. "He was in the world and the world was made by Him and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own and His own received Him not." (John 1:10-11) This is why Jesus told His disciples, "I and My Father are One" because He and the Father were One. (John 10:30) And ONE cannot equal THREE, regardless of how one attempts to spin the argument.

God in Christ.

"And this I say, that the covenant that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise ..." (Galatians 4:17-18)

"Seeing it is One God which shall justify the circumcision by faith and uncircumcision through faith ..." (Romans 3:30; Galatians 3:8, 20)

"One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism. One God and Father of all ..." (Ephesians 4:5-6)

In fact, Jesus said, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them and they follow Me." (John 10:27)

If it were any other way, Jesus would have told us so.

"But whosoever keeps His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected; hereby, know that we are in Him ... I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had heard from the beginning. The old commandment is the Word which ye have heard from the beginning." (I John 2:5-7)
