Come Ye, And Let Us Walk In the Light of the Lord - Part 1368

Interestingly, the Word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem was intended to and as the scripture states, "shall come to pass in the last days." (Isaiah 2:1-2)

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, [that] the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, "Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us His ways, and we will walk in His paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem." (Isaiah 2:3-4)

Somewhere in the in between, "repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem, and ye are witnesses of these things." (Luke 24:47-48) And as a consequence, those who were once in darkness but now are ye light in the Lord walk as children of light, for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth, proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. (Ephesians 5:8-10)

This was the good news gospel message that the Lord God personally delivered to one and all, so that we could be filled with His joy and mercy and peace. Indeed, He willingly offered the perfect sacrifice, taking on the form of man and being born as a son to Mary so that we might have eternal life. He paid the price for our sin once and for all. God manifest in the flesh. (I Timothy 3:16)

But instead, we have allowed the enemy to deliver a compromised gospel -- one of religion and aligning with the traditions of men rather than our Lord God and Saviour Jesus the Christ -- and thus allowed the soothsayers to carry us away, pleasing ourselves in the children of strangers.

"Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and [are] soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither [is there any] end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither [is there any] end of their chariots.

Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made: And the mean man bows down, and the great man humbles himself: therefore forgive them not. Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of His majesty." (Isaiah 2:5-8)

Why? Because in that day, "the lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the LORD of hosts [shall be] upon every [one that is] proud and lofty, and upon every [one that is] lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, [that are] high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,
and upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills [that are] lifted up, and upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall, and upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.
And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

And the idols He shall utterly abolish. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of His majesty, when He arises to shake terribly the earth. In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made [each one] for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats -- to go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of His majesty, when He arises to shake terribly the earth." (Isaiah 2:11-22)

But as the scripture states, the gospel that the apostles preach came not unto you in Word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost and in much assurance: as we know what manner of men we were among you for your sake, and ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the Word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost. (I Thessalonians 1:5-6)

Therefore, beloved brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, know your election of God. "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long suffering, forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye, and above all these things, charity which is the bond of perfectness.  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, signing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him." (Colossians 3:12-17)

This includes repenting of your sin, and accepting Jesus as the Lord in your life, and then being water baptized -- buried with Him unto death in His precious name -- the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, so that ye too can receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:36-47; Romans 6:1-4)

"For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth, we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more -- death hath no more dominion over him." (Romans 6:1-9)

We have a choice. We can choose life. So rather than being punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, look up and welcome thy Lord Jesus into your heart because the day is coming when He shall come to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed in that day)." (II Thessalonians 1:9-10)

Let those with ears to hear, hear. Stand in the offering plate.
