God in Christ Reconciling the World to Himself - Part 734

Surely, our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried, yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised [crushed] for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray. Each of us has turned his or her own way, but the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him ... (Isaiah 53:4-6)

Indeed, God was in Christ reconciling the world -- you and I -- unto Himself, not imputing our trespasses unto them, but rather committing unto us the Word of reconciliation ... for He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. (II Corinthians 5:19-21) In other words, He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. (Romans 4:25)

The same God who in the beginning created us became as one of us so that we could fellowship with Him. Indeed, our heavenly Father took upon Himself a sin-prone body so that He -- as the prophesied Christ -- the only begotten Son -- the fullness of the Godhead bodily -- could die for our sins according to the scriptures. (I Corinthians 15:3 / Colossians 2:9)

"Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins should live unto righteousness, by whose stripes ye were healed." (I Peter 2:24)

As such, we can stand firm on His promises -- that never a day will go by that our Lord God and Saviour isn't watching out for us. Because once you believe on Jesus, and seek His righteousness, we can know that "he who has the Son has the Father also." (John 2:24)

"For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers -- all things were created by Him and for Him." (Colossians 1:16)

Why? Because He loves us as His own.

"And Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of Thine hands." (Hebrews 1:10) "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the Word of reconciliation." (II Corinthians 5:19)

"Thus saith the Lord, the King of Israel and His redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first and I am the last and beside Me, there is no God." (Isaiah 44:6) It is for this reason "that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. (Philippians 2:10)

Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many, and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. (Hebrews 9:28)

While there are those in the world who "shall make war with the Lamb, the Lamb shall overcome them; for He is the Lord of lords, and King of kings, and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful." (Revelation 17:4)

Praise Jesus -- He alone is worthy! Stand in the offering plate.
