THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD - PART 483

JESUS! Jesus is the Christ that was foretold in the Old Testament. He is the Lord of Glory - the King of Kings. So why then is there such widespread ignorance concerning the most important part of our salvation? That is, who is this God that loved us so much that He would become flesh and have His humanity die on the cross?

Further, why is there this reluctance among traditional religious institutions to align their traditions with the Word? To some extent, we understand that satan wants to elevate these misconceptions --- and thereby conceal from men the truth. Still, there is no theological sound reason for churches continuing to teach doctrines and traditions that fail to align with the scriptures. Search the scriptures for in them ye shall have eternal life; they are they which testify of me. Who is Me?

In the beginning God. The first book of the Bible Genesis begins with "in the beginning God." And in John 1, the mystery of the Godhead is further explained. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word WAS God. And this same Word became flesh. The Word that was God became flesh.

This is why we have the scriptures -- so that we as believers in Jesus can read the scriptures for ourselves and discern what is right according to the scriptures. The scriptures are our foundation for knowledge and wisdom. There is no other point of reference. The best part is that we are not living in Old Testament times where God spoke to intermediaries who disseminated the teaching(s) to the populace.

In this new day, according to the New Testament scriptures, there is one intermediary between God and man -- Jesus. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. And it is His Word that we need to hear and do. What is it the scriptures say? And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. We do this by reading and discerning the scriptures -- the Word -- that was delivered to us by our Creator. There is only one God and His name is Jesus.

So in furthering our personal walk with Jesus let's not become as the individual identified in Matthew 13:22 which states: The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the Word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.

We have been saved by His grace. His abundant grace. Trust in Jesus today. He never fails!
