"And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee My power; and that My Name may be declared throughout all the earth." (Exodus 9:16)
Too often, in our modern day religious culture mode, we have stepped away from the power of the Holy Ghost working in our lives. We have ventured into studying the interpretations and thoughts of others and not studying His Word, to shew ourselves approved. In some cases, we have fallen into the trap of believing lying signs and wonders, forgetting that the Spirit and Word must agree. And as a consequence, the believing saints are scattered.
But it does not have to be this way. But for change to happen, wherein the Lord Jesus is recognized as King of kings and Lord of lords, Alpha and Omega, the first and last, the beginning and the ending, we need to return to the source of knowledge that Hosea alludes to when he wrote, "My people perish for lack of knowledge ..."
The starting point has to be the Word of God, Christ in us -- the hope of glory, wherein God has made known the riches of the glory of this mystery that was held in the bosom of the Father from the beginning to the Gentiles. (Colossians 1:27)
That is, "Now the Lord is that Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty." (II Corinthians 3:17)
Not Lords plural but singular --- as in One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism.
The prophesied right hand -- "Thy right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power: Thy right hand, O Lord, hath dashed in pieces the enemy." (Exodus 15:6)
"... who being the brightness of [His] glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high ..." (Hebrews 1:3)
Thus, when we study the scriptures, we discover that the Godhead is not a triad or trinity as the religious culture would have us believe. Neither is this same Lord on a cross anymore as many churches would have us believe. Thus, we need to stop worshiping an "unknown god" as they did on Mars Hill and recognize that God is not found in graven images, and idols.
Rather, as the scriptures clearly proclaim, the fullness of God dwelt in the body of Jesus Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and ye are complete in Him which is the Head of all principality and power." (Colossians 2:8-10)
"To wit, God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself." (II Corinthians 5:19)
In other words, we need to stop ignorantly worshiping the multiple headed gods and understand how much the Spirit of the same Lord God who moved across the face of the waters in the beginning loved us enough to provide a body for sacrifice -- shedding His own precious blood on a cross so that we might have abundant life in Him. (Acts 20:28)
Herein is our hope and peace and joy, knowing that the same God who created us in the beginning, and knew us in our mother's womb, loved us so very much that He made a way for us to have a personal relationship with Him -- by becoming the mediator of the New Testament -- in this current dispensation of grace.
As Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come into him and will sup with him and he with Me!" (Revelation 3:20)
Paul further summarizes our hope in Ephesians, wherein he writes: "... whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; and to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: to the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: in whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Him. Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen." (Ephesians 3:1-21)
