Who Was Foreordained Before The Foundation Of The World, But Was Manifest In These Last Times For You! - Part 2273

"... who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you." (I Peter 1:20)

“The Spirit of the Lord God [is] upon Me; because the Lord hath anointed Me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified.” (Isaiah 61:1-3)

Jesus later cites this same prophet Esaias (Isaiah) when He walked on this earth, proclaiming,“The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:17-19)

Why is this important? Because every scripture has a corresponding scripture (at least one but can be many more than one) confirming every teaching and doctrine in the Bible. In some ways, the Word can be likened to a puzzle wherein each piece needs a matching piece to fit -- or else the puzzle cannot be finished. This is why Jesus laid the foundation, and apostle Paul later writing:

"According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." (I Corinthians 3:10-14)

"According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love!" (Ephesians 1:4)

"And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner [stone]." (Ephesians 2:20)

"For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself." (Hebrews 9:26)

God knew from the very beginning, even when the world was still void, that He had a people who we're not His people, but would eventually be His people -- a chosen people, who would worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. And that these same believers would search the scriptures so that they could personally know and understand how much our Lord God and Saviour Jesus the Christ loved His beloved creation.

Give us this day our daily bread. That is, Jesus who is the Bread of Life.

If you have not asked Jesus to be both Lord and Christ in your life, today is the day. If you have ventured away from your first love, it's time to come back because the Lord Jesus has a wonderful purpose just for you. Meditate on these things this day. Open your New Testament anywhere and begin reading. Therein you will find life in abundance!

Stand in the offering plate.
