Standing Fast In The Liberty Wherewith Christ Hath Made Us Free - Part 2286

Continuing from the previous post, it is good to remember that Jesus was also accused by those in authority of sidestepping the Law. Even though Jesus preached the good news gospel to one and all, and was willing to lay down His life for His sheep, Jesus also had to summarize the ten commandments into two for the scribe, who asked, "Which is the first commandment of all?" (Mark 12:29-31; Matthew 22:34-40; Luke 10:25-28)

Jesus answered, and said, "The first of all the commandments is, 'Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is One Lord! And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. This is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, 'Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.' There is none other commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:28-31)

And when the scribe came near to Jesus, after responding discreetly, He said unto him, "Thou art not far from the Kingdom of God!" (Matthew 22:46: Luke 12:34)

Is this a question that we can ask of ourselves on this day? Meditate upon The Word of God this day, and come to know Him as your personal Saviour. The Great I AM, the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the ending.

Stand in the offering plate.
