For the record, it is not just David who makes this observation. Indeed, the declaration within the first commandment (in both the old and new) is that the same Spirit of the Lord that moved upon the face of the waters in the beginning is the same God who created the heavens and earth. Jesus confirms this same commandment in its entirety in the new. That is, "Hear O Israel the Lord thy God is One Lord." (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:28)
You see, God is not the author or confusion. Every scripture that is written must align with the others in perfect unity so that we, the seekers of truth -- as apostle Paul writes, can be assured in our understanding of the mystery of the Godhead. This again is clarified when Jesus said to His disciples, "Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables." (Mark 4:11)
When we seek the risen Jesus with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, we come to know Him too as the Way, the Truth and the Life. The same Lord who came forth as a mighty man, according to Isaiah, said, "Before Abraham was, I AM." Emmanuel, being interpreted God with us. (Matthew 1:21-23) His Name in this current dispensation of grace? JESUS, for He shall save His people from their sins.
Why is this important? Because we do not worship a three headed God, or God in three persons, a triad or trinity as the modern day religious institutions would have us believe. As Paul writes, "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in." (Romans 11:25)
"Now to Him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began ..." (Romans 16:25)
"And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ ..." (Ephesians 3:9)
"Having made known unto us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He hath purposed in Himself ..." (Ephesians 1:9)
"How that by revelation He made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)"(Ephesians 3:3-4)
"Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints ... to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:" (Colossians 1:26)
When the dayspring from on high visited His people, it was so that He Himself could redeem us from our sins.
It is this mystery that we hold of the faith in a pure conscience. (I Timothy 3:9)
"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood." (Acts 20:28)
Yes, God was manifest in the flesh -- to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself. (II Corinthians 5:19)
But again, the devil has worked overtime creating a situation wherein the traditions of men would have us believe that this One God (who created us in the beginning) is divided into thirds.
Moreover, "He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence." (Colossians 1:18)
Nevertheless, as the scriptures clearly declare, "He was in the world and the world was made by Him and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own and His own received Him not." (John 1:10-11)
"Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature ..." (Colossians 1:15)
Herein is our salvation. Let those with ears to hear, hear and understand also. Stand in the offering plate.
