For the scripture saith, "Whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed." (Romans 10:11; Isaiah 28:16)
Who is the Him referenced herein? "The Word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ -- He is Lord of all!" (Acts 10:36) The same Word that was in the beginning with God and was indeed God whose salvation plan for us was to be made flesh, dwelling among us so that we could behold His glory. (John 1:1-18)
That Word as Peter said, "ye know, which was published throughout all Judea and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached -- how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him. And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem, whom they slew and hanged on a tree -- Him God raised up the third day and showed Him openly ... to Him give all the prophets witness that through His Name -- whosoever believes in Him shall receive remission of sins." (Acts 10:36-43)
Note that when Peter had yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell upon them which heard the Word, and they were baptized in water -- in the Name of the Lord Jesus. (Acts 10:44-48) The same Holy Ghost which Jesus said would come upon them on the day of Pentecost (and by extension we who believe), and that we would become witnesses "unto Me both in Jerusalem and in Judea and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
Therefore, those who "gladly" receive the Word -- JESUS -- will come to the knowledge that Jesus is both Lord and Christ, the Head of the body of Christ church. We will come to understand that the first man, earthy, the second the Lord from heaven. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords, Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. (Revelation 1:8)
His Name shall be called JESUS, for He shall save His people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21-23)
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32)
