"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God ... and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us ((and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth." (John 1:1-18)
Herein, we begin to understand that the entrance of the Word brings light, and that, without the Word, we would not even be able to theorize. This is why God sent His Word and healed us. "By His stripes, we were healed!" Fully restored in our hearts to the goodness and grace and mercy and love of our Lord God who willingly became our Saviour -- yes, Jesus the Christ.

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." (I Timothy 3:16)
His plan of salvation in the bosom of the Father from the beginning of the world until that day when God said, "This day have I begotten Thee." (Psalm 2:7; Acts 13:33; Hebrews 1:5) "... the Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing." (Hebrews 9:8)
At the time of God’s appearing, it is said that darkness covered the face of the earth like a thick blanket, and likewise, that gross darkness covered the people's hearts as well. Thankfully though, the Lord of hosts had determined before the foundation of the world that He would become the light of the world and all those who follow after you shall not walk in darkness.
Jesus said, "I am the light of the world: he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12)
"As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." (John 9:5)
However, men apparently loved darkness rather than light, and even though they are totally aware that His enlightening words of truth have come into this dark world, men continue to walk in darkness. Many will not come to the light lest their deeds be reproved. In so doing, they establish that they were/are lovers of darkness rather than light, and similarly, creatures of the night.
At the time of the Reformation, we know that same darkness of ignorance prevailed. The light of God’s words had been extinguished from the hearts of men. Religious darkness flourished. Without any spirituality, there was wickedness everywhere. Even so, the Bible is still the number one bestseller in the world, consistently year after year, sadly, the scriptures are not the most read. Once again, men use the Bible as a cloak of dignity.
But the reformation sparked the deadwood, and as a consequence, a forest fire raged throughout the land. Translated pages of the scriptures, one page at a time was hidden in bales of cotton so that the good news gospel message could be revealed to one and all. The Geneva Bible was introduced and the King James authorized version followed later. At the same time, protestant denominations arose. The Roman darkness was exposed and banished from the land.
The puritans advanced in numbers having their voices heard. But the one who shouts the loudest is not necessarily the person with the most lightening. For behind the scene, another small group of believers contended for the faith. These were called friends, later to be called Quakers. It is to this small group of assembled people that we owe so much. For it is their light that rose higher than others in truth. Indeed, much higher. The exodus to the United States of America soon followed. While the puritans seem to be the prominent figures, tagging along were the friends.
The friends being the apostles of those times, adhering only to the Word of God contained in the King James Version, causing the light that is much brighter than the noon day sun to shine. His Name is JESUS, for He shall save His people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21-23) After the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared. (Titus 3:4-7) No greater love than this -- that a man lay down His life for His enemies.
The salvation message wherein the dayspring from on high personally delivered His love story to us, so that we could behold His glory. If you have not already, ask Jesus to become both Lord and Christ in your heart, the King of kings and Lord of lords. Read the New Testament. For therein is contained the pathway of eternal life reaching out to all generations. God’s right hand and His Holy Arm offering to His beloved creation, peace. Willingly desire to do His will. In so doing, bring forth the light because it is the fire of the Spirit of God that establishes nations.
Stand in the offering plate.
