If The People Who Are Called By My Name ... -- Part 1895

"If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (II Chronicles 7:14)

Who declared this promise? Of course, it was God Almighty. But as we have discussed here before, God is not a name. God is a descriptive title. But what happens when some people suggest that both name and descriptive title are one and the same? That both terms really mean the same thing? The only legitimate response would be that it could only be the same because these folks want it to be.

But why would anyone want to adhere to such a belief? Well, perhaps to console themselves (and by extension, their conscience) from their own misdirection. Rather than admit that the traditional beliefs and institutional statements of faith adhered to might be contrary to the Word, and determine within themselves to search the scriptures for Thy truth, these sadly refuse to change, and in the end, deceive themselves. Indeed, what would people think if we were to recant our original stance, even when we know in our hearts that should. Even when historically, people (and likewise, organized religious institutions) have changed their positions from time to time.

Still, for believers in Jesus by faith, the Word of God is much more precious than silver and gold. Early believers were known to seek after the truths of the Word of God to the point that the Word of God became more important than their necessary day to day sustenance. I’m sure most believers understand this because of the depth and breadth of their own Christian born again experience.

But we also need to understand that the Spirit speaks expressly about the latter times and how some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron; forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe, and know the truth. For every creature of God is good and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by the Word of God and prayer. (I Timothy 4:1-5)

It is for this reason that each and every one of us should labour in the Word and doctrine, so that we are not led astray by some who have already turned aside after satan. (I Timothy 5:15, 17)

As Paul notes, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope, this is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation. That is, "for therefore, we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God -- who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe." (I Timothy 4:9-10)

Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, God manifest in the flesh as a Son. The prophesied Emmanuel, being interpreted, as God with us. (Matthew 1:18-23) Conceived when the Holy Ghost overshadowed Mary so that she could bring forth a son. (Luke 1:35) In Jesus, did dwell all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. (Colossians 2:9) So all of these, Jesus assuredly was. But still, to get back to our original thought, what is God's name?

This is the question that those who have left the first faith, having willingly subjected their own hearts to damnation, never want to be asked. Of course, as the Word reveals, in this dispensation of grace,  JESUS is His name.

What did the angel of the Lord say? Ye shall call His Name JESUS for He shall save His people from their sin. (Matthew 1:21) Other scriptures confirm this fact. For instance, There is no other name under Heaven given among men whereby mankind can be saved. (Acts 4:12; Philippians 2:9) The Name is JESUS! Whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)

What is the Name? JESUS! Believe on the LORD JESUS the Christ and you shall be saved. As He often said through the prophets from afore, "Look unto Me all you people, even to the ends of the earth and be saved." Why?

"Because I AM GOD and beside Me there is no Saviour ... I AM the Good Shepherd, the same Good Shepherd that gives His life for His sheep."

Who was the Good Shepherd? There is only One Good Shepherd and His name is JESUS. The Name of JESUS is ABOVE every other name in Heaven and Earth. God (eternal Spirit) has glorified His Son JESUS, declaring that same JESUS whom we/ye once crucified in our heart is both LORD and CHRIST. (Acts 2:36)

Let ALL the angels of GOD WORSHIP HIM! Yes, WORSHIP the LORD your GOD and HIM only shall you serve! Further, know that every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus the Christ is Lord, repentance and remission of sin being preached among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Why? Because He is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the ending.

If you do not yet know Jesus as your Lord God and Saviour, listen to the message of Peter (standing with the eleven) on the day of Pentecost. The people pricked in their heart asked what they must do? Peter tells them to repent, and to be baptized into the Name of the Lord JESUS for the remission of sin so that they can/shall receive the gift of His holy Spirit. The Holy Ghost which will comfort you, who leads and guides us into all truth. Find a New Testament and begin studying His Word.

"Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine; continue in them, for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee ..." (I Timothy 4:14-16)

Stand in the offering plate.
