Nevertheless, The Foundation of God Stands Sure, Having This Seal - Part 1624

“Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal -- The Lord knows them that are His. And, let every one that names the Name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (II Timothy 2:19)

There appears to be so much confusion emerging regarding the doctrine of Christ. (Hebrews 6:1-2) Some (like the devil) believe that Jesus was and remains as the "Son" of God -- co-existent and separate from the Father, even when Jesus Himself declared otherwise. What is sad about this is that the Lord has so much more for His people, if we would only turn away from man-made traditions and seek His counsel. As the scripture states, we are to study to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth. (II Timothy 2:15)

Giving diligence to our calling, making our election sure "for if ye do these things ye shall never fall. For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!" (II Peter 1:10-11)

How do we do this? By understanding that the scriptures are like a puzzle wherein all the puzzle pieces align so that we can all come into one accord. In other words, God is not the Author of confusion. Right from the beginning, God had carved out a plan of salvation for His chosen. And now, the mystery that was in the bosom of the Father from the beginning has been revealed for one and all to behold. That is, "the fullness of the Godhead dwelt bodily" in Jesus. (Colossians 2:9)

And He is the Head of the body of Christ church, revealed in this current dispensation of grace. As a consequence, we no longer follow cunningly devised fables and the traditions of men. Instead, we remain grounded in Jesus, being drawn unto the Light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn and the day star arise in our hearts. (II Peter 1:19-21)

This is why we study His Word in earnest so that we are not led astray by those false prophets who are among the people, and false teachers who privily bring in damnable heresies -- even denying the Lord that bought them. While many follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of, the Holy Ghost leads us and guides us away from those who have forsaken the right way and gone astray. (II Peter 2:1-22)

Still, as we are so clearly instructed: "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: for with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to this people. To whom He said, "This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. But the Word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken." (Isaiah 28:10-13)

And it is herein that we discover the promise of liberty. We know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we have escaped the pollution(s) of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. "For the life was manifested and we have seen and bear witness and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father was manifested unto us ..." (I John 1:1-10)

"For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven" (Colossians 1:19-20).

"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself..." (2 Corinthians 5:19).
