"And the Lord shall be King over all the earth. In that day shall there be one Lord, and His name one." (Zechariah 14:9)
"And one cried unto another, and said, "Holy, holy, holy, [is] the LORD of hosts: the whole earth [is] full of His glory." (Isaiah 6:3)
“For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” (Romans 1:20)
In this regard, we should already know that the heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork.
"Day unto day uttereth speech and night unto night shows knowledge. [There is] no speech or language, [where] their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world. In them hath He set a tabernacle for the sun, which [as] the bridegroom coming out of His chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race. His going forth [is] from the end of the heaven, and His circuit unto the ends of it; and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul, the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple ..." (Psalm 19:1-7)
In fact, throughout the old covenant and into the new testament as well, God is revealing Himself to those who love Him with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. Moreover, when we seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, we get a glimpse of how much our Lord God and Saviour really does love us. But sadly, there are many within the religious culture who want to dilute His message of love, dividing the Godhead to make Him -- the same one God who became our Saviour (and His love) of none effect. These ignore scriptures that point to one God and Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Indeed, some attest that "In the beginning, God" doesn't really mean what the scripture says.
But how can one dispute, or even claim that God was never manifest in the flesh, when indeed I Timothy 3:16 clearly states that "God was manifest in the flesh."
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness -- GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." (I Timothy 3:16)
Or, when John repeatedly declared that "He was in the world and the world was made by Him and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own and His own received Him not." (John 1:10-11)
Doubting Thomas is another example. When he put his hand in Jesus' side, what did he say? "My Lord and my God." (John 20:28)
And then there is Philip. When he asked Jesus to show him the Father, Jesus replied, "Have I been so long time with you and you say, Show us the Father"? (John 14:8-9)
Or, Jesus telling His disciples, "I and My Father are one." (John 10:30)
What did Stephen cry out when he was being stoned? He cried out to God, saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my Spirit."
Or for that matter, Genesis 1:1 which signifies everything we should ever need to know about why we are here. That is, "In the beginning, God." The Spirit of God moved across the face of the waters.
At Mar's Hill the apostle Paul wrote: "For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth; (as there be gods many, and lords many,) but to us [there is but] one God -- the Father, of whom are all things and we in Him and one Lord Jesus Christ by whom [are] all things, and we by Him. Howbeit, [there is] not every man that knowledge ..." (I Corinthians 8:5-7)
"For in Him we live and move ... For we are also His offspring ... for as much then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to thing that the Godhead is like unto gold or silver or stone, graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance, God winked at; but now commands all men everywhere to repent ..." (Acts 17:28-33)
Who was this unknown God?
As Paul told them, "Him I declare unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands. Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, seeing He gives to all life, and breath, and all things AND hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed and the bounds of their habitation, that they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after Him, and find Him, though He be not far from every one of us -- for in Him we live, and move, and have our being." (Acts 17:22-27)
"And they shall call His name JESUS" ... Emmanuel, which being interpreted is -- "God with us" (Matthew 1:21-23)
"One Lord, One faith, One baptism. One God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in you all." (Ephesians 4:5-6)
Yes, even Peter, standing with the eleven other apostles on the day of Pentecost declared that this "same Jesus" whom they crucified, was indeed "both Lord and Christ." (Acts 2:36)
Jesus said, "If any man will come after Me, let Him deny Himself and take up His cross, and follow Me." (Matthew 16:24)
I could go on and on but you get the point. This same Jesus is coming back one day soon to gather His children to be with Him in paradise. The same Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end who loved us enough to shed His precious blood on the cross. The King of kings and Lord of lords -- to whom every knee shall bow and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
The one and only who still invites us to dine at His wedding feast, as the Bride of Christ. The same God who created us who loved us so much that He willingly was made flesh, and dwelt among us. (John 1:1-18)
Indeed, the mystery of godliness is the greatest love story ever told! Therefore, don't be led astray by the garments of modern day religious culture. Instead, search the scriptures for yourself. And, in so doing, reach out to Jesus and ask Him to clothe you perfectly in His righteousness. And, as new believers in the early church were instructed, repent of your sin [turn away from wrong doing] and be washed clean through His blood sacrificed for you and me. Be sanctified through His Word. Be filled with His Spirit when you are water baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, as the first 3,000 believers were on the day of Pentecost. (Acts 2:37-42)
In other words, be ready for the coming of our King.
"For the Son of man shall be coming in the glory of His Father" with His angels, and then shall He reward every man according to His works. (Matthew 16:26)
