If the way into the holiest in this current dispensation of grace had been made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing, then the false religious doctrine that presents the Godhead as a trinity, or tri-une God, or God in three persons would have merit. But thankfully, there is no scriptural validity to support any other doctrine other than that which the Lord God Himself has declared repeatedly.
That is, "I, even I, am the Lord, and beside Me, there is no Saviour." (Isaiah 43:10-11)
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness. God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." (I Timothy 3:16)
From the old covenant -- In the beginning, God. (Genesis 1:1) And confirmed in the new testament -- "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory. (John 1:1-18)
"A Light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of Thy people Israel." (Luke 2:32)
"For so hath the Lord commanded us, [saying], "I have set Thee to be a Light of the Gentiles that Thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth." (Acts 13:47)
"And they shall call His name JESUS, for He shall save His people from their sin." (Matthew 1:21-23)
"In whom we have redemption through His blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins; who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature. For by Him were all things created that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him and for Him -- and HE IS BEFORE ALL THINGS AND BY HIM ALL THINGS CONSIST. And He is the Head of the body, the Church ... for it pleased [the] Father that in Him should all fullness dwell, and having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him," (Colossians 1:14-20)
Indeed, Isaiah writes: "I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles -- to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sin in darkness out of the prison house. I am the Lord, and that is My name, and My glory will I not give to another ... [moreover] the Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, He shall stir up jealousy like a man of war. He shall cry, yea, roar, He shall prevail against His enemies." (Isaiah 42:6-13)
In the book of Hebrews, we begin to gain a clearer understanding of the old covenant and new testament, and how the Lord (who Peter standing with the eleven calls both Lord and Christ) fulfilled His plan of salvation, through the shedding of His own holy blood on the cross. (Acts 2:36)
"Then verily the first [covenant] had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; and over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercy seat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service [of God]. But into the second [went] the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and [for] the errors of the people.
The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing, which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; [which] stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed [on them] until the time of reformation.
But Christ being come an High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us]. For if the blood of bull and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
And for this cause He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament [is] of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats with water and scarlet wool and hyssop and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, saying:"This [is] the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you."
Moreover, He sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood and without shedding of blood is no remission. [It was] therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, [which are] the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us. Nor yet that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others --- for then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Hebrews 9:1-28)
If the trinity were as self-evident in the scriptures (to the extent that modern day religion would have us believe), there would have been no reason for God to hide the mystery within His bosom from the beginning of the world. But the fact of the matter is He did, and this hidden mystery has only been revealed in the new testament. The hidden wisdom which God ordained before the world unto our glory. (I Corinthians 2:7)
"God manifest in the flesh." (I Timothy 3:16)
"According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having pre-destinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to |Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace, wherein He hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known unto us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure, which He hath purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of times, He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth, [even] in Him -- in whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being pre-destinated according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will ..." (Ephesians 1:3-23)
But don't believe me. Search the scriptures for yourself, and let the King of kings and Lord of lords -- our Lord God and Saviour Jesus the Christ reveal Himself to you through His Word. And let this mind be in you too, which was also in Christ Jesus -- who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God , but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men, and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." (Philippians 2:5-11)
He who knew no sin becoming sin for you and I, so that we can be filled with His Spirit, His righteousness, and His love.
"Now to Him that is of the power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, but now is made manifest and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith, to God only wise, [be] glory through Jesus Christ, for ever, amen." (Romans 16:25-27)
