Give Attention to Reading, to Exhortation, to Doctrine - Part 886

"Yield yourselves unto God -- as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God, for sin SHALL NOT have dominion over you -- for you are not under the law but under grace." (Romans 6:12-14)

Moreover, the scriptures tell us that when we were set free from sin, we became the servants of righteousness. (Romans 6:18) "No longer is the wages of sin death but we receive eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23) And because we become spiritually minded through the study of His Word -- like a workman studying to show his or herself approved -- we discover His peace (Romans 8:8)

But the promises of our Lord God and Saviour do not stop there. "We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) And we also know, as Jesus said, "Ye have not chosen Me but I have chosen you and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit; and that your fruit should remain, that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you." (John 15:16)

So worship the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength and mind. "Stir up the gift of God which is in thee ... for God hath NOT given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (II Timothy 1:6-7)
