My father once wrote in response to a request for his story --" Just a person who loves Jesus...a nobody to the world who loves walking with Jesus -- telling one person at a time." What a blessing! Knowing the peace that comes from walking with Jesus. The peace that passes all understanding. Peace in the Lord who is our stronghold -- a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
"Those who know my name" states Psalms 9:9-10, "put their trust in thee for thou oh Lord hath not forsaken those who seek thee." Remember the woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years and who had suffered much under many physicians? She had already spent all she had and yet, she was not any better. But she had heard the reports about Jesus.
When she came up behind Jesus in the crowd, her only motive was to touch Him. For she said, "If I touch even His garments, I shall be made well. And immediately, the haemorrhage ceased. At the same time, she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. But her touch did not go unnoticed.
Jesus, perceiving in Himself that power had gone forth from Him, immediately turned about in the crowd and asked, "Who touched my garments?" His disciples, noting the size of the crowd said, "You see the crowed around you and yet you say, who touched me?" Still, Jesus looked. The woman, knowing what had just happened, came to Jesus trembling and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth.
And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. go in peace and be healed of your disease." The very stone which the builders rejected -- Jesus -- has become cornerstone. Jesus loves you that much too. Ask Him into your heart today ... and then stand in the offering plate.
