And Ye Will Not Come To Me, Jesus Said, That Ye Might Have Life - Part 964

Jesus' words that were spoken on earth are the same words that were with God in the beginning. "In the beginning, God." (Genesis 1:1) "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." (John 1:1-18)

This Word is not another person as some might suggest. Rather, it is God’s own Word proceeding from God's Spirit voice that continues to emanate from His throne. The voice of God who is Spirit and yet the same Lord God and Saviour who fills (and fulfills) all things. The scriptures which we are instructed to hide in our hearts. The same Word in which we should study to show ourselves approved, as does a workman. The Word that was delivered personally by our Lord God and Saviour.

Therefore, as a consequence, none can hide from God. He knows exactly where we are. He knows our hearts, and He definitely knows our innermost thoughts. As well, note that God has no language barrier to contend with. Remember that once before, God was compelled to curtail man's steps by doing something no one could have thought possible. That is, when men said at the tower of Babel, "Let us build a tower that reaches to the heavens," God scattered them across the earth -- literally.

Sadly, the world today can be likened to the example of the tower of Babel. Once again, in our prideful state, some might even suggest building a tower that reaches into the heavens too. Certainly, the enemy (as prince of this world) has always desired that man ascend into the heavens out of which he himself had been earlier cast out. Failure is what he prides himself on, always seeking to devour who he might.

But remember what Jesus said when the devil tempted Jesus in the wilderness?

"And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days, He did eat nothing, and when they were ended, He afterward hungered. And the devil said unto Him, "If Thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread."
Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, THAT MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY WORD OF GOD."

And the devil, taking Him up into a high mountain showed unto Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, and the devil said unto Him, "All this power will I give Thee, and the glory of them, for that is delivered unto me, and to whomsoever I will I give it. If Thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be Thine."

And Jesus answered and said unto him, "Get thee behind me, satan, for it is written, "THOU SHALT WORSHIP THE LORD THY GOD AND HIM ONLY SHALT THOU SERVE."

And he brought Him to Jerusalem and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto Him, "If Thou be the Son of God, cast Thyself down from hence; for it is written, "HE SHALL GIVE HIS ANGELS CHARGE OVER THEE, TO KEEP THEE, AND , IN THEIR HANDS THEY SHALL BEAR THEE UP, LEST AT ANY TIME THOU DASH THY FOOT AGAINST A STONE."

And Jesus answering, said unto him. "It is said, THOU SHALT NOT TEMPT THE LORD THY GOD."

And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Him for a season. And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and there went out a fame of Him through all the region round about. And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all." (Luke 4:1-15)

Jesus knew the scriptures, saying "it is written." And His example should serve as a lesson, that we neither can live by bread alone. We need to live by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)

"For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)

"[Is] not my Word like as a fire?" saith the LORD; "and like a hammer [that] breaketh the rock in pieces?" (Jeremiah 23:29)
"Thy Word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalms 119:105)

"All scripture given by inspiration of God, and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." (I Timothy 3:16-17)

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God ..." (Ephesians 6:17)

"So shall My Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11)

"Every word of God pure: He [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in Him." (Proverbs 30:5)

The signs of the end times are already evident everywhere we look. Even so, we are to be at peace in Jesus the Christ, who never fails. Rejoicing in His love and mercy which passes all understanding. Why? Because beyond His plan of salvation for mankind (that He established even before the foundation of the world), He also has an agenda which will surely be fulfilled. I think we ought to remember what the scripture advises. That is, we will do only if God permits.

Jesus said, "Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are they which testify of Me." (John 5:39) The Word. His Word. God's spoken Word that was with God and was God and later became flesh, so that we might have salvation. Stand in the offering plate.
