THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD - PART 468

"Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" And they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shalt be saved and thy house[hold]." (Acts 16:30-31) Why Jesus? Because there is no other name under Heaven given among men whereby men and women can be saved. (Acts 4:1) There was a reason why in Matthew 1:21, Mary and Joseph were told to call His name JESUS. "For He shall save His people from their sins." (Luke 1:31) The scriptures are clear on this point. They shall call Him Jesus.

Later, when Jesus was preaching to the multitudes, then opened He their understanding that they might understand the scriptures. And He said unto them, "This it is written and thus it behoved Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day. And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem. (Luke 24:45-47) In other words, believe in Jesus so that you may also have everlasting life.

When the people asked, "What shall we do that we might work the works of God" Jesus answered and said unto them, "This is the work of God that you believe in Him whom He hath sent." In Jesus, "my Father has given you the true bread from Heaven for the bread of God which cometh down from Heaven gives life unto the world." (John 6)

Therefore, "if any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink," saith Jesus, "He that believeth on Me as the scriptures has said out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake He of the Spirit which they that believe on Him should receive for the Holy Spirit was not yet given because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)"

But Jesus is the bread of life. He that believeth on Him hath everlasting life. "This is that bread which came down from Heaven not as your fathers did ate manna and are dead. He that eats of this bread shall live forever." (John 6:58) This bread being Jesus.

This is the good news message that God intended for us when He first created us in the Garden of Eden. It is this same good news message that He delivered when God became flesh and dwelt among us so that we might understand just how much He loves us. For God so loved the world!

John 5:39 encourages us to "search the scriptures for in them are they which testify of Me" -- Jesus. And be not afraid because Jesus will give you the peace that you seek. Only believe (Mark 5:36).
