Thou Hast Made the Lord, Which Is My Refuge, Even the Most High -- My God; In Him Will I Trust - Part 1542

The psalmist David wrote this -- the 91st psalm.  The message therein provides so many insights into His abundance of love for us. So much so, that the greatest love story ever told to humankind -- that God would clothe Himself in flesh so that we might have life everlasting in Him becomes powerfully evident. His Name in this current dispensation of grace is Jesus. No other Name is sufficient. (Acts 4:12) So when people speak about God or one of the hundred plus names the Lord God used in the old testament, remind them that the ONLY name that every single person will confess is Jesus. The scriptures are very clear on this point.

Why? Because Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the ending. The King of king and Lord of lords.

As background, David speaks of the secret place in Psalm 91, and how the Lord is our refuge and fortress, confirming for one and all to see that His love never fails. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life!"

As you read through the psalm below, take hold of His message for you today, remembering too that Jesus never fails. He has given you a purpose to fulfill, which means you are loved and have value beyond measure. Indeed, Jesus is the best news going!

"He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.

Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day; nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. because Thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.  Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Because He hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My Name. He shall call on Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him My salvation."

Stand in the offering plate.
