And Yet This Same Lord In His Love, And After His Kindness -- In This Day Became Our Saviour -- Hear Ye Him! - Part 1474

Even the Lord asked, "Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against His anointed, saying, "Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision." (Psalm 2:1-5)

Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure. And yet, this same Lord in His love hath "set My king upon My holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto Me, "Thou art My Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of Me, and I shall give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron. Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the Way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him." (Psalm 2:5-12)

"Hear ye Him," saith the Lord God Almighty, even before that day when He Himself would come forth as a mighty man, in the form of a "begotten" Son to personally deliver His free gift of salvation to you and I. (Isaiah 42:13; Isaiah 9:6) "He was in the world and the world was made by Him and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own and His own received Him not." (John 1:10-11)

This is why the Name of JESUS is the ONLY Name whereby we must be saved in this dispensation of grace. (Acts 4:12) JESUS is the Name ABOVE all other names -- including those names which God identified with in the old testamentThroughout Acts, Peter and John preached the same good news gospel message of Jesus and the Kingdom, as we read in this psalm. The Name of JESUS.

"And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, "Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard."

So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done. For the man [who was healed] was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed. And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.

And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, "Lord, THOU ART GOD WHICH HAST MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH AND THE SEA AND ALL THAT IN THEM IS, WHO BY THE MOUTH OF THY SERVANT DAVID HAST SAID: "Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against His Christ. For of a truth against Thy holy child Jesus, whom Thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, for to do whatsoever Thy hand and Thy counsel determined before to be done." (Acts 4:18-28)

The Name of Jesus is the stumbling block. (I Corinthians 1:23)

And as we see from Isaiah's prophecy also, the people of God were forewarned of what was to come. These did expect a Messiah, but not one born in a manger, and because of their unwillingness to put on the Name of Jesus they did not believe that Jesus indeed was He, even when Jesus said, "I and My Father are One."

"Sanctify the Lord of hosts Himself; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread, and He shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken." (Isaiah 8:13)

You see, God had already counseled with Himself in the beginning to come forth as a mighty man. (Isaiah 42:13; Isaiah 9:6) God Himself would be manifest in the flesh. (I Timothy 3:16) After His kindness, God would become/became our Saviour, and the Name given unto men to be saved was the Name Jesus. (Titus 3:4-7; Colossians 2:9; Revelation 1:8, 11)

"I, even I, am the Lord; and beside Me there is no Saviour." (Isaiah 43:11)

"Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? Who hath told it from that time? Have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside Me; a just God and a Saviour; there is None beside Me." (Isaiah 45:21)

"Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but Me: for there is no Saviour beside Me." (Hosea 13:4)

He became the perfect sacrifice. The promised and prophesied Messiah -- the Christ. "We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ." (John 1:41)

And lo a voice from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17)

But as we know from then and now, men would not have Jesus to reign over them. "But His citizens hated Him, and sent a message after Him, saying, "We will not have this man to reign over us." (Luke 19:14)  Instead, the Pharisees of that day "went out, and held a council against Him, how they might destroy Him." (Matthew 12:14)

"When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put Him to death: and when they had bound Him, they led Him away, and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor." (Matthew 27:1-2)

"And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him. (Mark 3:6)

But the Lord knew from the very beginning what must be done, if we (His creation) were to receive His love, and on His side, for Him to receive us -- you and I as His beloved children. And the Lord shall laugh at him/them for He seeth/saw that His day is/was coming. (Psalm 37:13) He knew that He must shed His precious holy blood on the cross, if we were to be saved from the things to come. And thus, all the prophecies of old pertaining to a Saviour came to fruition on that day, when the earth shook and the sun darkened because these who hated Jesus had crucified the Lord of glory.

"This same Jesus whom ye have crucified," said Peter (standing with the eleven) on the day of Pentecost, "is both Lord and Christ." (Acts 2:36)

"God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that He hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, "Thou art My Son, this day have I begotten Thee." (Acts 13:33)

This is why the Godhead is so critical for us to understand. The fullness of the Godhead dwelt bodily in Christ Jesus. (Colossians 2:9) For unto which of the angels said He at any time, "Thou art My Son, this day have I begotten thee?" And again, I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son?" (Hebrews 1:5)

"So also Christ glorified not Himself to be made an high priest; but He that said unto Him, "Thou art My Son, to day have I begotten Thee." As He saith also in another place, "Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec -- who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared; though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; and being made perfect, He became the Author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him; called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec." (Hebrews 5:5-10)

"Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abides a priest continually ... if therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the Law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec and not be called after the order of Aaron, for the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law ... for it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda: of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood, and yet it is far more evident; for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there arises another priest who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment but after the power of an endless life -- for He testifies, "Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec " (Hebrews 7:3-28; Psalm 110:4; Romans 4:13; Hebrews 8:6-7, 34; Genesis 49:8-10; Isaiah 1:1; Isaiah 11:1; Micah 5:2; Matthew 1:2, 21-23; Jude 1:24; Hebrews 4:15; Ephesians 1:20; Hebrews 9:8-12, 24; Ephesians 5:2)

The prophecies foretelling of Jesus coming to fruition, one after the other. But not just the prophecies to inform and confirm that God does not lie but His promises to those who love Him with all their heart, soul, mind and strength as well. Jesus said, "And he that overcomes, and keeps My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of My Father." (Revelation 2:26-27)

"And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treads the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God." (Revelation 19:15)

In that day will the kings of the earth who scorned and accused Jesus and His people say "to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb ... For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" (Revelation 6:16-17)

But again, for those who have named Jesus as both their Lord and Saviour/Christ in their heart, and been water baptized in His precious Name, taking unto themselves the garments of salvation, and allowing Him -- Jesus -- to clothe them in His righteousness, we can rejoice, and shout evermore with joy, because we know from whence comes our salvation.

"But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice! Let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defends them. Let them also that love Thy Name be joyful in Thee." (Psalm 5:11)

His Name is Jesus. The ONLY Name given in this current dispensation of grace whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

"The Lord redeems the soul of His servants: and NONE OF THEM that trust in Him shall be desolate." (Psalms 34:22)
