- Romans 10:1-4 states: "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved, for I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge -- for they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God -- for Christ is the END of the law for righteousness to every one that believes."
- Today, rather than me presenting the gospel, I thought I would present a series of scriptures that pertain to our walk with Jesus, our salvation, and the extent of God's mercy and grace that He would care enough about you and I to shed His precious holy blood on the cross -- who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. (II Corinthians 1:22) Note that these scriptures should serve as a starting point for your learning and understanding and not the end. As you read, rejoice in Jesus -- the King of kings and Lord of lords.
- Romans 8: " There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us -- who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit ... for as many as are led by the Spirit of God they are the sons of God for ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear but ye have received the Spirit of adoption whereby we cry "Abba Father" ... and if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ if so be that we suffer with Him that we may also be glorified together."
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yolk of bondage. Behold I Paul say unto you that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised that he is a debtor to do the whole law -- Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law -- you are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith for in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing nor uncircumcision but faith which worketh by love .... but if ye be led of the Spirit ye are not under the law." (Galatians 5:1-18)
- "And for this cause, He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance, for where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead; otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. Whereupon neither the first [testament] was dedicated without blood ... so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation ... for the law having a shadow of good things to come, [and] not the very image of the things can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect ... then said He, "Lo I come to do Thy will O God. he taketh away the first that He may establish the second, by the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." (Hebrews 10:1-24)
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death? Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him: knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over Him. For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord .... For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you, being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness ... For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:1-23)
And so it is written, "The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit ... the first man is of the earth -- earthy, the second man is the Lord from heaven ... but thanks [be] to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (I Corinthians 15:45-57)
"Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned (for until the law sin was in the world but sin is not imputed when there is no law,. Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression -- who is the figure of Him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, [which is] by one man, Jesus Christ hath abounded unto many ... for if by one man's offence death reigned by one, much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ) Therefore, as by one [judgement came] upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [the free gift came] upon all men unto the justification of life." For as by one man's disobedience were many made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover, the law entered that the offence might abound .. but where sin abounded, grace did much more abound -- that as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 5:12-21)
"For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified -- the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us; for after that He had said before, "This IS the covenant that I will make with them after those days," saith the Lord, "I will put My laws into their hearts and in their minds will I write them, and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more." (Hebrews 10:14-17; Jeremiah 31:33-34; Ephesians 2:18; Hebrews 9:8-12)
Jesus satisfied the law once and for all when He shed His precious holy blood on the cross for you and I. "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus by a new and living way which He hath consecrated for us through the veil, that is to say -- His flesh." (Hebrews 10:19-20; John 1:1-18; I Timothy 3:16; John 14:6-11)
Let him who hath an ear to hear, hear. Stand in the offering plate.
