A New Covenant, He Hath Made the First Old - Part 1092

"Which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all." (Ephesians 1:23)

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus ..." (I Timothy 2:5)

"Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)

"Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made, [and it was] ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not a [mediator] of one, but God is one." (Galatians 3:20)

"And for this cause, He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance -- for where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead; otherwise, it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth -- whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood ... for Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many, and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Hebrews 9:15-28)

The difficulty that believers are experiencing today is that so many church related activities are becoming a "mediator" between us and our Lord God and Saviour. Whether it be an e-book published by some self-proclaimed evangelist, or a minister's motivational, non-scriptural reference on social media, or a list of sermons posted online for believers, we have taken His very Word and discounted it in favour of other sources of inspiration. Indeed, many believers will ask people to come to church with them -- rather than invite them to become friends with the King of kings and Lord of lords.

But what did Jesus say? "Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)

Therein, is our salvation. Therein, our peace and joy which surpasses all human understanding. Don't let the churches and/or ministers lead your heart away from Jesus -- because He is the ONLY mediator between God and man.

"And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant ..." (Hebrews 12:24) "Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever." (Hebrews 13:8)

This is why we are not to be carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. "For it is  a good thing that the heart be established with grace, not with meats which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. We have an alter whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacles." (Hebrews 13:8-15)

Only Jesus sanctified the people with His own blood. Let us go forth therefore unto Him and offer the sacrifice of praise to our God continually -- that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. His name is Jesus -- the ONE AND ONLY mediator between God and man. The ONE AND ONLY God who loved us enough to shed His precious holy blood on a cross so that we might walk in His presence.

The book of Hebrews is a must read for those struggling to understand how much the same God who loved us in the beginning still loves us today. Don't settle for man-made sermons or motivational sayings that suggest we -- in and of ourselves -- can make our life better, but rather feast directly on His Word. Jesus said, "I am the bread of life."

"But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry by how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant which was established upon better promises ... for if that first covenant had been faultless then should no place have been sought for the second -- for finding fault with them,

He said, "Behold the days come," saith the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they continued not in My covenant and I regarded them not," saith the Lord,

"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days," saith the Lord, " I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts, and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people, and they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, "Lord, for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest, for I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more"

In that He saith, "A new covenant, He hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxedth old [is ] ready to vanish away." (Hebrews 8:6-13)

Stand in the offering plate with Jesus.
