Do not be anxious about anything. Rather, in every situation -- by prayer and petition with thanksgiving -- present your requests to our Lord God and Saviour. (Philippians 4:6) Jesus said that none of us by taking thought can add one cubit to our stature. (Matthew 6:27) Or, conversely, by worrying, can add a single hour to one's life? Therefore, as Jesus said, "Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or about your body, what you will wear." (Luke 12:22) Instead, Jesus' desire is that we cast all our anxiety upon Him. (I Peter 5:7) Not just once as a passing thought but every moment of every day.
After all, it is our Lord God and Saviour who purchased us with His own blood on the cross of Calvary. And He did so in order that we could be made whole. Forgiven of our transgressions -- past, present and future. Jesus said, "Come unto Me -- all ye that labour and are heavy laden -- and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) "Look to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth for I am God, and there is none else." (Isaiah 45:22-25)
When we grasp this simple salvation message, we can be confident in Jesus' grace and mercy. His forever love for you and I -- the sons and daughters of the Most High King -- when we give our hearts over to Him. Our high priest. The only mediator between God and man. Therefore, stand fast in the liberty with which Christ has made us free -- and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)
And in the days ahead, be commended to God, "and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified." Yes, Jesus can and will make your day. Trust in His Word. Stand in the offering plate.
