Esteeming Christ Brings Greater Riches Than All The Treasures In Egypt - Part 2773

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." (II Timothy 3:16)

As the prophet declared, "... wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure." (Isaiah 33:16)

Thus,, "forever, O Lord, Thy Word is settled in heaven." (Psalm 119:89)

In spite of the whims of a modern day religious culture, the scriptures inform that we are not subject to parroted man-made creeds and catechisms. Rather, our counsel, knowledge and wisdom comes from the Word; line upon line, precept upon precept; knowing assuredly that God is not the author of confusion.
Interestingly, the prophet Isaiah tells us that the scriptures are so purposely arranged that only those who seek the hidden treasure will find -- even though, as the Lord states, He is not so far from us that we can't find Him.

This same message is confirmed when the Lord Jesus (in a parable) said that a wise man, upon finding treasure buried in a field willingly sells all that he has to go buy the field.

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hides, and for joy thereof goeth and sells all that he hath, and buys that field." (Matthew 13:44)

Why? Because, as Jesus stated, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." (Luke 12:34)

This same Jesus who said, "Seek and ye shall find; knock and the door will be opened unto you!" (Matthew 7:7; Luke 11:9)

"And ye shall seek Me, and find [Me], when ye shall search for Me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13)

Who are we seeking? To know Jesus personally as both Lord and Christ! (Acts 2:36-41)

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair ..." (I Corinthians 4:6-8)

"...that their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words." (Colossians 2:2-4)

"To wit, God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself." (I Corinthians 5:17-19)

This same message of wisdom throughout the scriptures. Not a prosperity gospel as false religious teachers like to preach-- that is contrary to Jesus' teaching --no man can serve two master -- but instead, that every man is given the necessities of life so that he or she can flow through the message of the good news gospel to everyone we meet. According to the measure of our faith, shall it be given unto us. This is the good counsel the Lord desires for us. And that we who profess to believe, are also willing to sell all that we have to buy that treasure in the field.

The treasure is Jesus -- King of kings and Lord of lords, Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the ending!

"Yea, if thou cry after knowledge and lift up thy voice for understanding; if thou seek her as silver,
and search for her as for hid treasures; then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God." (Proverbs 2:3-5)

"I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: that I may cause those that love Me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures." (Proverbs 8:20-25)

"I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: and I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou may know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. For Jacob My servant's sake, and Israel Mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name; I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known Me." (Isaiah 45:2-4)

So much to learn. Stand in the offering plate.
