Whereof The Holy Ghost Also Is A Witness To Us; For After That He Had Said Before - Part 2389

"Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, He hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear." (Acts 2:33)

As early as David's writings in the Psalms, we begin to see prophecies about Jesus, who would save His people from their sins. For example, David writes, "According to Thy name, O God, so [is] Thy praise unto the ends of the earth: Thy right hand is full of righteousness." (Psalm 48:10)

In another place, Isaiah writes, "Fear thou not; for I AM with thee: be not dismayed; for I AM thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness." (Isaiah 41:10)

Again He said, "Therefore hear the Word of the Lord; I saw the Lord sitting upon His throne, and all the host of heaven standing on His right hand and on His left." (II Chronicles 18:18)

"And He said, "Hear thou therefore the Word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right hand and on His left" (I Kings 22:18-20)

The remaining scriptures regarding the right hand of God are found in the New Testament.

"And many other things blasphemously spake they against Him [Jesus]. And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led Him into their council, saying, "Art Thou the Christ? tell us." And He said unto them, "If I tell you, ye will not believe: and if I also ask [you], ye will not answer Me, nor let [Me] go. Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God." Then said they all, "Art Thou then the Son of God?" And He said unto them, "Ye say that I AM." (Luke 22:65-70)

"So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with [them], and confirming the Word with signs following. Amen." (Mark 16:19-20)

"The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with His right hand [to be] a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are His witnesses of these things; and [so is] also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey Him." (Acts 5:30-32)

When Saul was responsible for having table-servant Stephen stoned, the scripture saith, "But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, and said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God." Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord ..." (Acts 7:55-57)

In the promises, apostle Paul asks, "Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? [It is] God that justifies. Who is he that condemns? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" (Roans 8:33-35)

"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." (Colossians 3:1-3)

"And every priest stands daily ministering and offering often times the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: but this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; from henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool. For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. [Whereof] the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that He had said before," (Hebrews 10:11-15)

"The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto Him." (I Peter 3:21-22)

Indeed, Thy right hand is full of righteousness.
