"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what is the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places. Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the Head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all." (Ephesians 1:17-23)
What is the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him? The Holy Ghost. The Spirit of our Lord God and Saviour Jesus the Christ no longer being "with us" but inside of those who believe in Him by faith, leading and guiding and encouraging us into all truth. This point is repeatedly throughout the new testament, and yet, people believe in a false trinity doctrine that has no scriptural basis. And the outcome is sad, because instead of believers searching His Word for truth, we listen to those we presume to be educated and spiritual, and it has led to the scattering of the power of His holy people. But let's look at what the scriptures say.
"For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it] do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God -- strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with joyfulness, giving thanks unto the Father which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated [us] into the Kingdom of His dear Son, in whom we have redemption through His blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins -- who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature.
For by Him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions or principalities or powers; ALL THINGS WERE CREATED BY HIM AND FOR HIM AND HE IS BEFORE ALL THINGS AND BY HIM ALL THINGS CONSIST, and He is the Head of the body, the church; who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all [things] He might have the preeminence ... for it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell, and having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself, by Him ..." (Colossians 1:9-20)
"For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and ye are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power, in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ. Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [Him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised Him from the dead." (Colossians 2:9-12)
This is why we are to beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit after the traditions of men and after the rudiments of the world and not after Christ. (Colossians 2:8) Instead we are to be and built up and rooted in Christ Jesus the Lord, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught. (Colossians 2:6-7)
The apostolic doctrine as it was established when the day of Pentecost was fully come and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, each man hearing them speak in his own language. (Acts 2:36-47; Acts 2:1-11) This marked the beginning of the early body of Christ church. Note that in order for the Holy Ghost to come, Jesus had to leave.
"Until the day in which He [Jesus] was taken up, after that He THROUGH the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom also He showed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God ..." (Acts 1:1-5)
Only then shall ye receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you. Only after Jesus had spoken everything that had to be said on this earth would the Holy Ghost come. (Acts 1:7-8)
The Holy Ghost. Not another person in the Godhead, as those misled might claim but the one and only God who loved us enough to deliver His love into the world. After the love and kindness of God our Saviour. (Titus 3:4-7)
This is why Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me. If ye had known Me, ye should have known My Father also and from henceforth ye know Him and have seen Him." (John 14:6-17)
Jesus said, " ... the Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it sees Him not, neither knows Him, but ye know Him, for He dwells WITH you and SHALL BE IN YOU. I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you." (John 14:16-18)
One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism. One God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in you all, and that same Father was in the world calling us back unto Himself. No greater love. He who was in the world and the world made by Him but the world knew Him not -- He paid the ultimate sacrifice on the cross, when He shed His precious blood on that cross for you and I. (John 1:10-11; John 1:1-18; I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 42:13; Revelation 1:8, 11; Ephesians 4:5-6)
But don't believe me. Study His Word for yourself and let His Spirit -- the Spirit of Jesus who willingly redeemed a people who were not His people -- the Comforter, the Holy Ghost fill you with the wisdom and knowledge of Him. The doctrine of Christ.
The greatest love story ever displayed for one and all to see, if these would only open their heart to the Him -- Jesus -- the King of kings and Lord of lords, Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the ending.
