Note that Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice on the day of Pentecost and said, "Ye men of Israel, hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by Him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know -- Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain -- whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be holden of it." (Acts 2:22-24)
As a consequence of the apostles' message on that day, 3,000 souls gladly received the Word and were baptized into the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and received "the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38-42) However, the promise of salvation does not end with repentance and baptism. There is a victory in Jesus that allows us to reign as sons and daughters of the Most High King on this earth -- for we are bought with a price. There is an expectation that we will become stronger in the faith, glorifying God in our body and in our spirit, which are God's. (I Corinthians 6:20)
Indeed, we need to take hold of the promise that states: "God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by His own power." (I Corinthians 6:14)
Why? Because when we believe in Jesus and seek His righteousness, we "are not in the flesh but in the Spirit -- if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in [us]. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. [But] if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin but the Spirit is life because of righteousness ... if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you." (Romans 8:9-11)
"Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not in tables of stone but in fleshly tables of the heart -- such trust have we through Christ to God-ward" (II Corinthians 3:3-6)
Therefore, "renounce the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the Word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God." (II Corinthians 4:2)
Preach the good news gospel of His Kingdom. That is, "to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and hath committed unto us the Word of reconciliation." (II Corinthians 5:19) Finally, if you haven't yet asked Jesus for forgiveness, please do so now. Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ so that you too can receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38-42) Stand in the offering plate.
