Why I Know We Have Victory in Jesus! - Part 1278

" ... the church of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood ..." (Acts 20:28)

Acts 20:28 declares that we - both individually and collectively (the Church) have been purchased by the blood of Jesus the Christ (God Himself in the flesh). This amazing act of love goes a long way to assure my heart and mind that God is victorious over all evil.

These thoughts come to me when I think of Genesis 3 which outlines the fall of one man Adam through whom all of humanity fell into sin and death. (Romans 2:12)

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. At that time, it appeared satan had won a major victory. Same law that had condemned satan would now condemn all God’s children. Satan had succeeded to take humanity as hostage and since God had handed over ruler ship of the earth to man, satan could now rule the earth through fallen man -- by endeavouring to deceive men into co-operating with him to do his evil bidding.

In this context, satan knows he can hold us hostage indefinitely, until God judges the earth in the last days. In that event, there would not be neither satan or any human children left. As the scripture states, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

But thank You blessed Lord Jesus for the amazing gift of love and life eternal. In writing this post, I encourage readers to really appreciate what all went into that victory over sin and death.

In John 1:14 God Himself became flesh so that He could become the perfect Lamb of God. A perfect human who would willingly become legal payment for our transgressions, thus setting us free from all condemnation, so that we could stand fast in the liberty wherewith is Christ. (Galatians 5:1)

But as we know, satan's ability to deceive man doesn't come from love. Why? Because satan doesn’t understand the power of love. Indeed, it was completely beyond him that God Himself would stoop down and become God in the flesh of man. Or, to understand how God made/manifest in the flesh would live a perfect life under the holy laws of God while being persecuted as a man at every turn, (I Timothy 3:16)

But that was not all. Jesus endured beatings and lashings in an unjust court of men, And in that, He allowed Himself to be crucified and die, experiencing hell and the wrath of God that really belonged to us -- the real sinners. He paid the price once and for all.

Romans 5:17 states, " For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ."

As a result of what God did on the cross for you and I, all humanity is once again free to choose between life and death, blessing and cursing.

“I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey His voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto Him: for He is thy life, and the length of thy days…..” (Deuteronomy 30:19)

Thank You Jesus! Praise Your holy name. Stand in the offering plate.
