Because of Jesus, We are Justified Freely - Part 682

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)  The salvation message is this simple. Indeed, the same God who created men and women in the beginning purposed in Himself -- counseled with Himself -- that only He could become flesh and shed His precious blood on the cross for us -- in order that you and I might be saved. Salvation then is by His grace. His mercy. His love for us.

Therefore, as conduits of this glorious gospel message, we willingly share this good news message with others. The apostle Paul recognized this when he wrote, "How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?" (Romans 10:13-15)

Paul knew from personal experience that the gospel message was life-sustaining. He knew firsthand from his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus that His Lord and Saviour loved him/loves us so much that His blood washed away Paul's and our sins once and for all. He admitted that all men -- each and every one of us "have sinned and come short of the glory of God." But also that through our faith in Jesus, we are justified freely in His grace -- through the redemption that can only be found in Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:23-26)

The scriptures state, "how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things." (Romans 10:15) This is why Paul was able to say, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes, to the Jews first and also to the Greek, for therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith." (Romans 1:17)

Therefore, thank our Lord God and Saviour for His goodness "that the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus." (Philemon 1:1-6) Further, be not weak in your faith. Believe in Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification." (Romans 4:24-25) Stand in the offering plate.
