The Stock (The Wooden Idol) Is A Doctrine Of Vanities; But the Lord Is The True God, The Living God, The Everlasting King - Part 1801

For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them." (Acts 20:28-30)

He hath made the earth by His power, He hath established the world by His wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by His discretion. When He utters His voice, [there is] a multitude of waters in the heavens, and He causes the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightenings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of His treasures ..." (Jeremiah 10:12-13)

Why should we take note of this? Because those idols [false gods] which have NOT made the heavens and earth -- they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens. Therefore, we are instructed not to be "confounded by the graven image, for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. They are vanity [futile], and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation, they shall perish." (Jeremiah 10:14-15)

So, what does that mean for us who profess to believe in the King of kings and Lord of lords? We are to "hear ye the Word which the Lord speaks ..." In fact, we are to gladly receive His Word in our hearts, rejoicing forever more that the Lord who is the true God, the living God, and an everlasting King, would love us enough to provide a way of salvation for you and I. He prepared a Way for us, when there was no way. (Jeremiah 10:1, 12; Revelation 1:8, 11) This same Jesus crucified is both Lord and Christ. (Acts 2:36)

Jesus having said unto His disciples (and by extension, you and I), "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes unto the Father but by Me." (John 14:6)

Thus, saith the Lord, "Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain; for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not; they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Lord; Thou Art Great, and Thy Name is Great in Might ..." (Jeremiah 10:1-6)

Therefore, flee the earthly constructs that will not bring eternal life. Consent only to wholesome words -- the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and to the doctrine which is according to godliness. (I Timothy 6:3; I Timothy 3:16)

"But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses ... and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; that thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable [blameless] until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ; which in His times He shall show, who it the blessed and ONLY POTENTATE -- The King of kings and lord of lords, who only hath immortality dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto, whom no man hath seen, nor can see, to whom be honour and power everlasting, amen." (I Timothy 6:11-16; Daniel 2:22; John 6:46)

Jesus told Pilate, "My Kingdom is not of this world ..." Jesus also said, "To this end was I born and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears MY VOICE!" (John 18:36-37)

Indeed, as Jesus said, "This is the work of God -- that ye believe on HIM whom He hath sent." (John 29)

"And for this cause, He is the mediator of the New Testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions, that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament [is] of force after men are dead: otherwise, it is of no strength at all while the testator lives. Whereupon neither the first [testament] was dedicated without blood ..." (Hebrews 9:15-18)

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ today. Ask Him to become both Lord and Christ in your heart, and be water baptized (by immersion) in His Name -- the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:36-38; Acts 10:44-48) Be clothed in His righteousness, wrapped in His garment of love. Why? Because the false idols in this world can never bring you the peace and joy of the Lord.

Only Jesus -- the living bread which came down from heaven -- can restore our souls to what we were intended to be -- His beloved -- from the very beginning.

"For the bread of God is He which came down from heaven and giveth live unto the world!" (John 6:33)

His Name is JESUS, for HE alone shall save His people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21-23; Acts 4:12; Philippians 2:9)
