The Lord is my Shepherd - PART 109

The heavens shall depart as a scroll. Sounds like a repeat performance of the mindset of earth’s former inhabitants when they said let us build a tower that reaches into heaven. In this latter example, that purposed collective mindset did not get off the ground. In actual fact that short-term vision was brought to nought. Why? Because, as the scriptures describe, man in his fallen rebellious state will never inherit the creation that God has created expressly for those individuals that love him! So what happened when man tried to build a tower that reached into the heavens. God confused the languages of man retarding man to confusion. Instead of one common language, God scattered the inhabitants around the world, giving them a diverse range of languages in which to build their society.

Today, there are similar endeavours being planned by earth's inhabitants. This time, technology that promotes the use of one computer language is again attempting to build a tower that reaches into the heavens. This is consistent with the scriptures, that speaks of man saying that they will accomplish this feat, solely by their own doing. There is no mention that man will do this 'if God permits.' If we take this perspective one step further, shall the created ask the creator why have you made us this way? Is man so determined to do things their way with the 'my way or, the highway' attitude that they have forgotten God. Certainly God has an answer to this attitude. As the scriptures state, "Thou fool. Today your soul will be required of me." But this is not the message God wants humankind to adopt. Indeed, God’s plan is a plan of redemption. God is not desirous that any man should perish. Rather, God wants all humans to be fruitful and to multiply and in so doing replenish the earth.

Still, the heavens are departing like a scroll. Gradually, we are perusing the heavens, seeing the vast expanses of God in created form (the invisible Spirit of God now being materialised). We peer through a darkened glass at the majestic world beyond, desirous to explore beyond the boundaries. And in this context, man will be set over the works of God’s hands. However, it will not be Adam’s fallen sinful race who will be the inhabitants. Why not? Because as the scriptures declare, Adam’s fallen race are doomed to a place that was never prepared for them to spend eternity. That place is what we call Hell.

Although it was a prepared place for the devil and his rebellious demons, Hell was never made to accommodate man. It was for the enemies of God who were all cast out of heaven. During this period, there was war in heaven that eventually led to Satan and his hordes being cast down to the planet earth. It is at this time that a voice was heard saying, “Woe to the inhabitants of the earth for Satan has come down as a raging and a roaring lion, seeking to devour earth’s inhabitants."

Admittedly, Satan is on a home run, pursuing all God believing persons according to his own agenda. Satan and his demonic followers cannot procreate so Satan and his demonic hordes are actively endeavouring to hitch a ride in man who can procreate. By so doing the devil's 'God-denying' message is spread throughout the universe.

But the good news is that God is over all. His weapons of warfare are not carnal instruments. God’s Word remains all powerful and God’s Word is much sharper than any two edged sword. God has said that His Spirit will not always strive with man. Even so, God is patient and long suffering. He wants to save people! God’s redemptive plan was that He Himself as a Son would die at a place called Calvary, to redeem man from Adam's curse.

This is why Jesus said as part of His last words, “It is finished." As a consequence, you and I can be born again into the Kingdom of God. There is no need to perish. Christ has died once and for all for our sins. Repent and be baptised into Jesus!
