For All This His Anger Is Not Turned Away But His Hand Is Stretched Out Still - Part 2462

"Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, "My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure: calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executes My counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it." (Isaiah 46:9-11)

"Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel and His redeemer the Lord of hosts, "I am the first, and I am the last; and beside Me there is no God. And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even My witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any." (Isaiah 44:6-8)

Yesterday, there was a discussion regarding the family unit and division of roles in stone age times. I hadn't given it a lot of thought until I opened the scriptures this morning to I Chronicles 4:22. Therein, a reference to ancient times -- wherein the Lord God has disclosed to us many highlights that are often missed -- because, like me, ancient things have not been a priority. Nevertheless, I looked up the scriptures that referenced ancient things/ancient times and list them below for your edification and learning. In some, I have included context. In other places, I have left the reader to look up these verses and discover for themselves how the same Lord God who created the world continues to call us into His love. Thus, the following for your edification!

"The sons of Shelah the son of Judah were, Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea, and Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had the dominion in Moab, and Jashubi-lehem. And these are ancient things. These were the potters, and those that dwelt among plants and hedges: there they dwelt with the king for his work." (I Chronicles 4:21-23)

" ... and for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills ..." (Deuteronomy 33:15)

"The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength." (Judges 5:21) 

"Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps." (II Kings 19:25) 

"But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy ..." (Ezra 3:12)

"Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste His meat? With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding. With Him is wisdom and strength, He hath counsel and understanding." (Job 12:11-13)

"I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times." (Psalm 77:5)

"I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts." (Psalm 119:100)

"Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set." (Proverbs 22:28) 

"For, behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water, the mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient, the captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator. And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable." (Isaiah 3:1-5)

"The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of His people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses." (Isaiah 3:14)

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel. And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart, "The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars." Therefore, the Lord shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together; the Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

For the people turns not unto Him that smites them, neither do they seek the Lord of hosts. Therefore, the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honourable, He is the head; and the prophet that teaches lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still." (Isaiah 9:6-17)

"Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, "I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?" (Isaiah 19:11)

"Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days? her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn." (Isaiah 23:7)

"Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before His ancients gloriously." (Isaiah 24:23)

"Hast thou not heard long ago, how I have done it; and of ancient times, that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste defenced cities into ruinous heaps." (Isaiah 37:26)

"And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them." (Isaiah 44:7)

"Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside Me." (Isaiah 45:21)

" ... declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, "My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure." (Isaiah 46:10)

"I was wroth with My people, I have polluted Mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke." (Isaiah 47:6)

"Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?" (Isaiah 51:9)

"Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel," saith the Lord: i"t is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knows not, neither understands what they say." (Jeremiah 5:15)

"Because My people hath forgotten Me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up ... " (Jeremiah 18:15) 

The Lord said, "Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength." (Proverbs 8:14)

At the end of the day, the Lord's hand is still outstretched, calling His people to return to Him -- this same God who created the world loving His people so much that He Himself would willingly become our Saviour. His Name JESUS in this current dispensation of grace - for He shall save His people from their sins. 

"After the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared .." (Titus 3:4-7)

I,, Even I, Am He That Blots Out Thy Transgressions For Mine Own Sake; Put Me In Remembrance - Part 2461

"For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."(Galatians 3:26-28)

There are many who desire the new testament to be an extension of the old. In this mindset, we are still under the Law previously given to the Israelites, including the ordinances and sacrifices. However, as we learn from the scriptures, the new testament is not the old plus, but rather, the Lord doing a new thing -- wherein we can be saved by His grace and mercy and love.

In the old testament, the Lord speaks His Word through Isaiah -- "Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them." (Isaiah 42:9)

In the new -- "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (II Corinthians 5:17)

Indeed, the risen Jesus -- who is now Lord of lords and King of kings, both Lord and Christ, the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the ending -- has said, "I will make all things new!" (Revelation 21:5; Revelation 1:8; Acts 2:36)

As we also know from Hebrews 9, the Holy Ghost this signifying that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing -- which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could unto make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience [which stood] only in meats and drinks, and diverse washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed [on them] until the time of reformation." (Hebrews 9:8-10)  

Therefore, the new -- the way into the holiest of all could not be made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. 

Apostle Paul explains it this way -- "and not as Moses, [which] put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: but their minds were blinded: for until this day remains the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which [vail] is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart." (II Corinthians 3:13-15) 

The good news? "But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless, when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." (II Corinthians 3:17)

Continuing in Isaiah, the Lord declares that He is the Lord, and besides Him there is no other. And when we come to Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength (His Name JESUS in this current new testament dispensation of grace) we understand that there are no other gods but Him. No other Saviour could save us from our sin. No other redeemer loved us enough to shed His precious, holy blood on a cross for you and I. (Acts 20:28; Titus 3:4-7; II Corinthians 5:19) 

"Ye are My witnesses," saith the Lord, "and My servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside Me there is no Saviour. I have declared, and have saved and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are My witnesses," saith the Lord, "that I am God." Yea, before the day was I am He; and there is none that can deliver out of My hand: I will work, and who shall let it?"

"Thus saith the Lord, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, "For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships. I AM the Lord, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King." Thus saith the Lord, which makes a way in the sea and a path in the mighty waters; which brings forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. The beast of the field shall honour Me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen. This people have I formed for Myself; they shall shew forth My praise.
But thou hast not called upon Me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of Me, O Israel. Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense. Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.

"I, even I, am He that blots out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou may be justified. Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me. Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches." (Isaiah 43:1-28)

Preaching The Good News Gospel Of The Lord Jesus Christ, That Some Might Be Saved - Part 2460

Jesus said, "Howbeit in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups, and many other such like things ye do." And He said unto them, "Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition ... making the Word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered; and many such like things do ye!" (Mark 7:7-8, 13)

Apostle Paul continually warned against grievous wolves and false teachers who would enter in -- not sparing the flock, and as the scripture states, "from among your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them." (Acts 20:29-30)

When speaking to the saints and churches in Galatia, Paul further clarifies, writing, "But though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again -- if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." (Galatians 1:8-9)

Notice how important preaching the truth was to the Lord Jesus? And similarly, to the apostles?

Therefore, if we believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God, if we believe the risen Jesus through the Holy Ghost gave commandments unto the apostles He had chosen, if we believe the scriptures are wholly sufficient instruction for understanding the greatest love story every told, and  likewise, the foundational doctrines as outlined in Hebrews 6:1-2, our heart desire should be to quickly cast aside any and all traditions of men, the creeds, the religious decrees and proclamations that do not align scripturally -- in favour of the doctrines clearly stated in the scriptures. In other words, the Holy Bible -- as it is written, does not need to be supplemented with voluminous writings by those who refer to themselves as church fathers.

Doesn't the Lord say that He will lead and guide us into all truth? That He would write the laws in our hearts?

Thus, we should understand that the Spirit and the Word must agree. That any doctrine or teaching that does not align is false, and that those who continue to teach/preach heresies that are not scriptural (as Paul wrote) -- let him be accursed.

Why? Because God is not the author of confusion. His instructions should lead us to search the scriptures for His truth, re-examining traditions of men when the latter fails to align accurately with the scriptures. It is also important to recognize that "developing traditions" is not equal to scripture.

As Jesus shared in His parable, our heart desire should be to build our foundations on the Rock. The same Rock which was Christ who followed the Israelites through the Red Sea. (I Corinthians 10:1-4)

Christ Is Not Divided; One Church And Jesus -- He Is The Head - Part 2459

"Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth. Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins. Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliver will I give up to the sword. Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine." (Micah 8:10-18)

True religion, as defined by the apostles in Acts is when we take care of the orphans and widows, those who are down-trodden and broken-hearted, those who are sickly, and those seeking the peace which surpasses all understanding. This church which the apostles speak of was founded by Jesus the Christ -- that He is both the foundation (the Rock) as well as the head of the church -- which is His body. It is for this reason Jesus believers are referred to as members within the body of Christ church.

"For even as we have many members in one body ... so we, being many are one body in Christ." (Romans 12:4-5)

Before the Holy Ghost this signified, that the new could not begin while the old was yet standing, it is important to note that the good news gospel of the risen Lord Jesus Christ no longer applied to only one nation, as had been the situation under the law -- Israel. Rather, the redemption message has been extended to the peoples of all nations. (Acts 2:1-4; Acts 2:36-41)

In other words, we have been given an opportunity to take hold of His free gift of salvation, wherein we can be born again, our minds and consciences renewed. (I Peter 3:21-22) For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God." (Romans 3:23-25)

"For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ!" (I Corinthians 3:11)

" ... and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together grows unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:20-22)

"And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church -- which is His body." (Ephesians 1:22-23)

Note that the word church in the scriptures was never intended to mean a religious, man-made religious institution/denomination. Apostle Paul addresses this topic in detail in I Corinthians 1. Rather, the new testament church refers to what we might consider today as local congregations. For example, apostle Paul wrote to the churches of Galatia, or to the saints at Corinth.
(Ephesians 5:25)

"... as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the Saviour of the body." (Ephesians 5:23)

Thus, the church is akin to a living organism, whose head is Christ. Therefore, when we are willing to base our faith on the New Testament teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ, as He instructed the apostles and the early church, we begin to understand that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is an abundance of inner peace and joy and love that emanates from His abundant mercies.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." (II Corinthians 3:17) 

Most important to remember, the head of the body of Christ church is the risen Jesus -- who is both Lord and Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the ending.

Entering Into The Holy Of Holies; The Tabernacle Which The Lord Pitched - Part 2458

"Ye also, as living stones are built up a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ ..." (I Peter 2:5, 9)

For clarity, the office of the priest, the prophet and the king (alongside the old tabernacle sacrifices) in the old testament gave prominence to the nation of Israel. But when we study the scriptures from our own new testament vantage point, we see each of these roles as contributing to the salvation message, wherein our Redeemer sets us free. Stand fast in the liberty wherewith is Christ. (Galatians 5:1)

In other words, these were a prefigurement (or shadow of good things to come) to the work which Jesus the Christ was setting out to do. As we now know, Jesus the Christ would become our High Priest, having paid the debt for the sin of His people. In so doing, He would open the door for a renewed fellowship between God and man.

Jesus said, "I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes unto the Father but by Me!" (John 14:6)

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:" (I Peter 3:18)

In each case, the men that voluntarily took the work of priest, prophet or king upon themselves were divinely called. For example, the prophet was appointed to be God's spokesperson to the people -- revealing the will and purpose of the Lord God for salvation. Additionally, the priest offered sacrifices for the people as a form of atonement -- a way of interceding with God on their behalf. The king was appointed to rule over the people and conquer His enemies.

What is interesting is that in the old testament, the priest would enter into the holy of holies with blood that had been offered on behalf of the sins of the people. In the new testament, Jesus the Christ entered into the heavenly sanctuary with His atoning sacrifice so that we too might find abundant life through Him. Hebrews 9 elaborates on the difference between the old testament sacrifices and the new testament wherein the Lord Jesus willingly paid the price for our sins -- through the shedding of His own blood.

Hebrews 9 also explains that while the first tabernacle was still standing, the Holy Ghost signified that the way into the holiest of all would not be made manifest. (Hebrews 9:8) In other words, the first had to go in order for the new testament to come to be. A time when Christ became an high priest of good things to come ...

"Then verily the first [covenant] had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shew bread; which is called the sanctuary. And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; and over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercy seat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.

Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service [of God]. But into the second [went] the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which He offered for Himself, and for the errors of the people: the Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing ... which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; [which stood] only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed [on them] until the time of reformation.

But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us]. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh: how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

And for this cause, He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator lives.

Whereupon neither the first [testament] was dedicated without blood. For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, saying, "This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you." Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

[It was] therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: nor yet that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters into the holy place every year with blood of others; for then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Hebrews 9:1-28)

In the former, the priest ministered at the sanctuary before God, offering sacrifices to Him on behalf of the people, teaching the law of God, and inquiring for the people concerning His divine will. But in this current dispensation of grace, wherein the Lord God levelled the playing field so that all who desired to follow Him could enter in, He has become the mediator of the new testament.

Let the eternal Spirit who offered Himself without spot to God purger your conscience from dead works so that you too can serve the living God. His name JESUS in this new testament dispensation -- for He shall save His people from their sins ... Emmanuel, being interpreted, God with us! (Matthew 1:21-23)

By The Which We Are Sanctified Through The Offering Of The Body Of Jesus Christ Once For All - Part 2457

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction." (II Peter 2:1)

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God:" (Ephesians 6:17)

And for those who may not be aware, Jesus is the Word made flesh, who dwelt among us. (John 1:1-14)

As believers in the Lord Jesus,  it is imperative that we know (and understand) the scriptures -- the Word of God which is thoroughly biblical -- so that we are not led astray by false teachers, who privily bring in damnable heresies. Why is this critical? Because there is only one Church. that is, the body of Christ church wherein the risen Lord Jesus is the head. 

We knew this time would come. In the old testament, Amos prophesied that there would come a time when a famine would fill the land - not a famine of food and/or water, but a famine wherein no one would know the Word of God. It is for this reason that we have decided to counter the ecumenical movement and its collective negating of the scriptures (concessions made in favour of uniting at any price) -- and teach believers the good news gospel truths -- as it is written.

To begin, let's agree that doctrine is the most important component of any religious organization, and that, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness ..." (II Timothy 3:16) In this sense, doctrine is akin to an official document - because it not only sets forth but confirms the infallibility of the Word of God.

Let's also agree that when Jesus shed His precious, holy blood on the cross for our sins, He paid the price once and for all! So much so, that there was no further need for a sacrifice to be made. "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood." (Acts 20:28)

"Who need not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this He did once, when He offered up Himself." (Hebrews 7:27)

"But into the second went the high priest alone once very year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the errors of the people ... neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy pace, having obtained eternal redemption for us." (Hebrews 9:7; Hebrews 9:12) 

"... for then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world, but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment, so Christ was once offered to hear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Hebrews 9:26-28)

For this cause, the new testament. The costly purchase for our sins had been paid once and for all. Otherwise, we would still be conscience of our sins. 

"For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins." (Hebrews 10:2) 

But that is not the case. Jesus willingly paid the price so that we might have abundant life through Him.

"By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." (Hebrews 10:10)

" ... whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this Word, Yet once more, signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain." (Hebrews 12:26-27)

At this point, it is important to remember that the man Christ Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. Because He voluntarily took on our sins unto Himself, we can now approach the throne of God, knowing that the price has been paid. Christ having become a high priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle -- not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation, nor yet through the blood of gates and calves, but through His own blood, entered in once for all into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for you and I.

Thus, we are redeemed through a plan of salvation the Lord Himself pitched. After the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared .... (Titus 3:4-7)

Teach; And I Will Hold My Tongue: And Came To Cause Me To Understand Wherein I Have Erred.- Part 2456

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works ..." (II Timothy 3:16-17)

We know from the examples in Acts that the apostles would go into the temple and reason from the scriptures, preaching the resurrection of Jesus to one and all. Over time, however, the foundational doctrines inherent in the scriptures have become corrupted, and the consequence has rendered the impact on individual lives ineffective. 

From the old testament: "... because they have despised the law of the Lord, and have not kept His commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked!" (Amos 2:4) Similarly, the Lord our God said, "My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declares unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God." (Hosea 4:12)

From the new testament: "... which some professing have erred concerning the faith." (I Timothy 6:21)

To the Pharisees, Jesus said, "Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God." (Matthew 22:29)

And Jesus answering said unto them, "Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?" (Mark 12:24)

In another place, James instructs us not to err. (James 1:16) James later states, "Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; let him know, that he which converts the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." (James 5:19-20)

Thus, it is important that we who believe in the Lord Jesus by faith study the scriptures for His truth, and not listen to those who are erroneous in their teachings of the scriptures. Why? Because "we are of God: he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God hears not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error." (I John 4:6)

It is from this context that we plan to go through the scriptural doctrines found in Hebrews 6:1-2 and beyond in the days ahead. We also plan to show how the modern day religious systems have erred in their presentation of the gospel, the statements of faith and recited creeds, and similarly, the doctrinal structure (statements) of their institutional religious systems. 

The primary purpose is to ensure we are not led astray from the truths which Jesus taught when He walked on this earth. When Jesus said, "I AM the Way the Truth, and the Life. No man comes unto the Father but by Me!" (John 14:6)

But Now Hath God Set The Members Every One Of Them In The Body, As It Hath Pleased Him- Part 2455

"... that in every thing ye are enriched by Him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: so that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:" (I Corinthians 1:5-7)

The most beautiful characteristic of the gospel is that when we come to the Lord Jesus and are water baptized in His precious, holy name, we are no longer on the outside of the body of Christ church looking in. Neither are we subject to any other than the risen Lord Jesus Christ -- who promises to lead and guide us into all truth.

Indeed, while Jesus walked on this earth, He said, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5) But the promises to His believing people do not end there. As apostle Paul writes, in all things which we do in His precious name -- the name of the Lord Jesus -- we will be enriched by Him. That includes in all utterance, in all knowledge, and in our testimony.

Why is this critical to understand? Because within the body of Christ church, wherein the Lord Jesus is the One and Only Head of the church, we have been made equals to fulfill the purposes He has placed in our hearts whilst we were still in our mother's womb.

What do the scriptures state?

"For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.

If the foot shall say, "Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?" And if the ear shall say, "Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?" If the whole body [were] an eye, where [were] the hearing? If the whole [were] hearing, where [were] the smelling?

But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased Him. And if they were all one member, where [were] the body? But now [are they] many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, "I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you." Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: and those [members] of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely [parts] have more abundant comeliness.

For our comely [parts] have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that [part] which lacked that there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. [Are] all apostles? [are] all prophets? [are] all teachers? [are] all workers of miracles? have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way." (I Corinthians 12:12-31)

Yes, the risen Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords, and He continually confirms His goodness and grace in us, so that we come behind in no gift, when we await His arrival -- the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

"Which in His times, He shall shew, who is the blessed, and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords:” (I Timothy 6:15)

Sing O Heavens, And Be Joyful, O Earth, Break Forth Into Singing, O Mountains, For The Lord Hath Comforted His People - Part 2454

"... redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is." (Ephesians 5:16-17)

"For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught [it], but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. or ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: and profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. 

Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord’s brother. Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not." (Galatians 1:12-20)

Here is apostle Paul revealing that his understanding of the scriptures came by revelation -- that when he came to understand Jesus as both Lord and Christ, he opened up to the fact that the Lord his God called him by His grace -- having revealed His Son --Jesus -- within him. Indeed, Paul writes, "But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man." (Galatians 1:11)

In another place, Paul writes, "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him ... rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." (Colossians 2:6-7)

Prior to meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus, Paul (as Saul) had excelled in the religious traditions of men. So much so, that Paul by his own mouth admits to profiting in the Jews religion above many his equals in his own nation. Why? Because Paul in his former life, was more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of his fathers, and as such, believed that what he was doing was for the Lord. [For clarity, Paul is referring to his time in the Jew's religion -- wherein he persecuted the body of Christ church beyond measure.]

There are many points that can be taken from Paul's testimony -- valuable take-aways that provide insight into our faith journey with the Lord Jesus. Certainly, Paul's example is exemplary in moving away from the religious traditions (with all the related pomp and ceremony) to living a life wherein he fully understood the liberty that can only be found in Christ Jesus. And notably, from Paul's writings, we know he did not waiver on the fence, trying to keep the religious traditions whilst similarly, serving the Lord Jesus. 

For He said, "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." (Matthew 6:24; Luke 16:13)

But there is another point that is often missed herein. That is, the Lord had called Saul to become Paul from his mother's womb, "from the bowels of my mother hath He made mention of my name." (Isaiah 49:1) 

By extension, the Lord God (who has since become our Saviour -- "after the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared!") has formed each and every one of us from our mother's womb, wherein He even knows our name. (Titus 3:4-7) And this same Lord God who created us has an inherent/unique/tailored specifically for us -- purpose for our lives, wherein we enter into a personal relationship with Him.

Not religion, and sacraments, and laws -- to which none of us could ever measure up, but entering into the goodness and grace and mercies (multiple mercies!) that the Lord continues to pour out on His people -- who love Him (His Name in this current dispensation of grace -- JESUS) with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. 

As Paul states in his message to Rome -- "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." (Romans 12:1)

Why is this important to understand? 

"For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake." (Titus 2:10) 

Yes, there is a better way -- holding fast the faithful word as ye hath been taught, that ye may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. Remain steadfast in the good news gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ -- our hope. And like Paul encourages, stand fast in the liberty wherewith is Christ Jesus! (Galatians 5:1)

Redeem the time, don't waste the gifts and talents the Lord has given to you for worldly distractions, but most of all, understand what the Lord has planned for your life. His purpose wherein we remain clothed in His righteousness. Continue steadfastly in the apostle's doctrine. (Acts 2:36-47) Pray without ceasing and rejoice evermore. 

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. ..." (Philippians 4:4-9)

Let Us Draw Near With A True Heart In Full Assurance Of Faith - Part 2453

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (II Corinthians 5:17)

Too often, we accept the traditional ordinances of divine service and a worldly sanctuary as our means for entering into the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all. Perhaps, it's because the traditional religious sacraments have been entrenched in meats and drinks and diverse washings, and cardinal ordinances for so long that we just accept such things as truth.

From Hebrews 9, we understand that these emerged from the first covenant or the old testament. We also learn that these were to be imposed "until the time of reformation." (Hebrews 9:10) That this was a figure for the time then present (again the old testament) in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience. 

This is why it is critical to understand that a time would come when the Holy Ghost would signify that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing. (Hebrews 9:8) 

Note that the old testament then was a figure for the time then present. 

But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building, neither by the blood of goats and calves, by by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Hebrews 9:11-12)

Why is this important? For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh, then how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God. (Hebrews 9:13-14)

"And for this cause, He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance." (Hebrews 9:15; Acts 20:28; Romans 8:28; I Timothy 2:5; I Timothy 3:16)

The promise? "To wit that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself." (II Corinthians 5:17)

This also explains why a testament (or a last will and testament) is of force only after the men are dead. Otherwise, as the scripture states, it is of no strength at all while the testator lives." (Hebrews 9:16-17) It was also necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these, 

Note the purchase, There had to be a purchaser and the price paid. As the scripture states, "This is the blood of the testator which God hath enjoined unto you." (Hebrews 9:20)

Now we can come unto the throne of grace wherein Jesus sits -- for He hath obtained a more excellent ministry - "By how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, there should no place have been sought for the second.

However, as the Lord God had said from the beginning, there would come a time when He would say (this signifying!), "Behold, the days come," saith the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they continued not in My covenant ..." (Hebrews 8:6-9)

But a time when the Lord God would be merciful in our unrighteousness, a time when He would remember our sins and iniquities no more. "In that He saith, "A new covenant, for He hath made the first old. Now that which decay and waxes old is ready to vanish away." (Hebrews 8:12-13) 

For the law having a shadow of good things to come!

And now, we can enter into the covenant that the Lord said He will make with us after those days, when He puts His laws into our hearts and minds. We have the promise in Jesus, who paid the ultimate price for you and I (with His precious, holy blood) so that we might have abundant, everlasting life in Him.

Don't miss this opportunity to know that we live in the new testament dispensation of grace, wherein the Lord will remember our sins no more, when we decide to follow Jesus as both Lord and Christ, and seek His counsel and wisdom in all things. 

Much more to come, but for now, let it suffice to understand that when the Lord paid the price, He did so because He loves us. The Good Shepherd laid down His life for you and I.
